Since these shops largely use freelancers, do you think any part of the shop's charge whether 350 or 550, goes to the boy?

I have a suspicion that it may be the other way around - the the boy may have to part with some portion of his tip as "commission" to the shop.

I saw a quick transaction recently at OneSpa where a boy passed at least one red note to Barbie. The boy wasn't the one who serviced me so I wouldn't be able to say what the context was. Maybe he had to pay Barbie a commission. An alternative explanation might have been that he had just done an outcall and was passing on to the shop what the customer had paid as the shop fee.

All I knew was that money went from boy to Barbie. And that got me wondering....

I think it’s quite possible as another way of financing the business.

in shops where masseurs work long shifts—typically 10+ hours—they usually receive a cut of the room fee.

also note that the mamasans or managers of our guys - also can provide other services to them, such as:

• loans,
• pay day advances,
• banking,
• police / immigration payments,
• etcetra

I knew of a bar guy who could not properly manage his money and also he did not do the required military service and was blocked from banking (I am not sure in what capacity), and the mamasan took care of these extra services for the guys that required it from her.

I'm currently using a ONEPLUS 8T.. pretty old (as they are on 12).  a ~350$ b phone with good processor and lots of memory.  the newer ones do little more than better camera... so hard for me to justify ...  I give my older phones to men I meet who need a phone

ONEPLUS makes very good phones -- little used here in the USA. 

It's been only five months since I stopped using my 5T. It worked fine for six years until it simply didn't.

Visited One Spa on a quiet Monday night and learned that management has reassessed its pricing policy (apparently in view of the competition) and reduced the rate for one hour oil to Bht 450, down from 500 announced just last week. A sign at the desk upon entering displays new fees.

Made my fourth visit to Phetboy Saturday. Myself and a fellow member both made reservations for 2:30p.m. Upon arrival, my guy was waiting and we were sent up to room on second floor. I was later to learn, however, that my mate’s masseur didn’t show up for another 45 minutes. Understandably dismayed, my friend requested and received a refund of the 380 baht fee. 

When I finished and found out what had happened, I accompanied him to nearby 15M where he chose a guy who happened to be in the shop. Perhaps it was a blessing in disguise because he reported after that it was an excellent session (400 baht).

As I reflect on my four visits to Phetboy, one was satisfactory while the other three were fine. The shop is clean and well maintained with showers that could comfortably accommodate three.

Although I’ve only visited 15M on one prior occasion, I found that also to be clean and similarly well maintained. Both are less than a 5-minute walk from the Saphan Kwai BTS.

As many have noted, the Saphan Kwai area is a target-rich environment for massage seekers. Although all the shops are on the basic side, SK makes up for it with lower prices and generally larger selections of masseurs than you’ll find elsewhere in town. Most of the guys are free lancers and you’ll find many of the same faces at multiple shops. Having said that, there are some all-male shops scattered about that have dedicated cadres of boys serving only their shop.

Last night I booked a guy at 15M which is less than a five-minute walk from the BTS station. Booking is fairly easy via LINE. I sent them his name and photo and requested one hour for two hours later. After initially reporting that he was unable to contact him, he sent me a message a few minutes later saying the boy called back and was available so I booked him.

When I arrived at appointed time,my guy and three others were in the shop, any of whom would have been acceptable to me. Rooms are small but adequate with mattress pad on floor and aircon. Showered separately down the hall. There was a large lock box on wall but no key.

Pleased to report that the young man provided very good service with skill and affection, fulfilling my expectations. Showered together and took turns soaping each other. Overall, a very pleasant experience worth repeating and tipped above the posted minimum.

Prices for an hour vary around the area from promotions as low as 250 to the highest I’m aware of at 550. But I think you’ll find the average about 400 which it is at 15M.

Getting there is fairly simple from Saladeang with a change of trains at Siam. Travel time about 25 minutes and RT fare less than 100 baht.

With so many shops and guys available in Saphan Kwai area, perhaps it's time to consider staying in Airbnb in the area? 3 massages in one day will not be a problem!

One issue I often have is that a lot of the shops don't specify top, bottom or vers. I'm a top, and bottoms are in the minority  in these shops, so it would be good to know from the pics.

At least Phetboy declares that clearly with "T", "T&B" or "B". Even the pictures are coded accordingly (Yellow=Top, Pink T&B and so on). Same with KK on their Twitter (X) site: https://x.com/okok1090/
