Saturday Night in Pattaya Bars

Last Saturday I did a little tour so brief notes: 

Smile Bar, a new pop up at the top of the Jomtien Complex street. Leo 80, 150bt including the 70bt lad tip, if you want to buy anyone a drink. The lads are good fun there to chat to.

Got the 10 bt songthaew and walked then to Winner Bar in Sunee. Walking seemed safe enough but I know the area so I don't worry about getting lost. 9 boys, 6 customers; good, considering what I'd read. Cute lads who smile. I was welcomed by a man I presume to be the owner. That afternoon I spoke to the man who runs the non gay bar across the road. He said he had done that for more than 40 years. 

On to Nice boys, 3 customers, incl. me, 8 boys, all on phones. The other 2 customers left and I asked the Mamasan if they still do the 300 bt in a pot and all the men wanking. They do! Roughish men with tattoos. Not my type but they would fit the bill for those who like more masculine, rough.

Next to Picky bar, Boystown, a few customers, a good number of bar lads, some handsome. I like the lads and the view from here. Several Lao bar lads who I seem to like.

Have to visit Toy Boys, many cute men there. Maybe 20 men on a busy night. There is a menu of prices for offing the men so ask to see it if you want to. No surprises in it. I can't recall if I took anyone off that night but I have off'd three men from there who were fine. Best to discuss what we want to do in advance.

I'm happy to hear Winner is hanging on in there. I really need to make it up that way. Thanks for the report for those of us that don't make it out of Jomtien enough.

I've thrown the ping pong balls before in Winner but I felt shy this time to send the lads scurrying round. But they told me once they like it as it's money for them. Any thoughts?

That's a completely new Winner look, compared to what I saw there in Dec: no numbers, no colored undies, some in Jeans.

Prior to covid, and again now, you can buy Ping Pong balls. The idea is you throw them to the boys on the stage. The ones they catch, they get paid for. If my memory is correct (4 years ago) you buy the balls for 10/20 baht each. It's a fun and interactive way to play with the boys on stage.

I first saw this at Boyzboyzboyz.

All I can say is, the guys probably don't get paid much per ball, as a lot of them couldn't be bothered chasing after them. I think it is yet another cynical way for the bar to get money out of its customers.

I thought the whole spectacle was degrading and humiliating.

But that's just me.

The blonde boy in the first picture would be my choice for closer examination and a possible off. Never bothered with the ping pong balls - I have found placing tips in their shorts results in more fun.

Hence the reason I can't remember the price. I never paid for it.

I went out too last Saturday. Some nice boys around in Jomtien and not many farangs.

 

Winner I visited two weeks ago, but I couldn't stand it in there. Too hot for my liking. I told Paul when I left.

They love catching ping pong balls. I buy the 500 baht bucket. One boy came up to me and thanked me because he caught five balls. I think he made 50 baht.

Number 23 has an incredible body. The boy on the right in the last photo is Bang. He looks better now as he lost a lot of weight. He was kind of fat before.

im surprised Iendo said it was hot in there. Usually it’s very cold with lots of aircon.

The boys receive 10 Baht/ball. Last night Bang (or is it Bank) had a birthday party and supplied pizzas for everyone.  The AC is not adequate and it can get a bit stuffy inside the bar.

Think part of the problem is that the boys sitting with customers complain that the AC makes them feel too cold (they certainly have to me in the past), so my guess would be that it has been deliberately turned down rather than failed.

Yes Vessey I think you are right.  The remaining gogos are now back to pre-Covid in as far as boy’s dress. They are now back to skimpy shorts or even jocks or g-strings so will feel the cold below say 25c.  Better to run the ac to suit the boys, perhaps that way Winner will attract more to work there. The choice was limited when I visited a couple of months ago, but I accept things vary night to night and by the hour. The most attractive lads are sometimes offed before 10.00 pm.

What are the drink prices like?

Some of the boys even live in Jomtien so that will not be a problem.

Drinks are quite reasonable at about 100 Baht/drink although wine is about 140 B.

I don't see problem with that,better you add 100 Bht to the agreed fee for transport to the boy.

All the boys use BOLT now. Sunee to Jomtien Complex is about 38 baht. Sometimes 45 during peak times. I did it for only 31 baht once. (although I suggest rounding it up to the nearest note) 100 baht transport is adequate at the moment. You can get from Jomtien Complex to Boyztown for under 50 baht.

I have taken boys from Winner in Sunee back to my hotel in the Complex by motor bike taxi “three Up”.  A 10 minute blast of night air !

For the air con aficionados, one air con unit was broken and  is now repaired as of last night; now pleasantly cool! 

A few customers and about 6 boys on stage last night. One customer was constantly calling boys over to inspect the merchandise and tip them. Another was also giving out some 50 B tips to one and all the lads. And others sat on their hands; a typical night at a go-go club.

I often found Winner Bar to be a bit on the warm side and Nice Boys on the smokey side but i can tolerate that for the entertainment that is being provided.

M Bar in Jomtien Complex has very cool air con and has been busy lately on these hot nights.
