First time in Bangkok in many years!

not exactly a newbie to the Bangkok bar scene but it’s been a long time … I gather the off-fee can be around 500B but I’m wondering what’s the normal going rate for both a short time and an over-night with a young man these days.  And yes I’m a believer in providing more when the results are worth while.

Off fee is a fine of taking the boy from the bar. Short to time or over night is between you and the boy and it's not concern  of his bar.

Yes I understand that.  But if I’m not mistaken most boys won’t quote a rate leaving it up to me to decide. What I’m asking is what would be considered a fair rate for short time and for long time these days?

IMO, 2,000 ST and 3,000 LT would be considered basic tip for boy offed from bar.

You may, as you said, have reasons to be more generous.

I second that based on my recet trip experiences although in Bangkok word basic is very well placed as often boys quote bit more

in the past it was universal ' up to you ', those days is not unheard that guys either quote what they expect or ask  " how much you give me? "
