Members unicorn Posted February 27, 2023 Members Posted February 27, 2023 I've noted with chagrin most hotels have dropped offering individual shampoo bottles and mini soaps in favor of big dispensers. I guess the switch reduces plastic waste, but I prefer the old way. How about you? vinapu, TotallyOz and Marc in Calif 3 Quote
Marc in Calif Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 I prefer the smaller bottles -- but only if they're sealed. I often suspected that housekeepers would simply refill half-used bottles from previous guests. Gross! TotallyOz 1 Quote

I don't see this as distasteful in any way. vinapu and numerito 2 Quote
caeron Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 practically, I prefer the dispensers. Fiddling with and dropping small bottles in the shower is annoying. On the other hand, The small bottles seem classier somehow. I'm not sure why. TotallyOz 1 Quote
Members Riobard Posted February 27, 2023 Members Posted February 27, 2023 It were a good idea to bring me own. Can you tell I’m binge-watching All Creatures Great & Small (not Conditioners)? Quote

With the small ones, It's possible to put some in your hand and then put it back into the bottle. Am I being too OCD about this? 😁 Quote

Mavica Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 I travel with my own body wash and hair shampoo. Quote
TMax Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Dispensers are my choice (for shower gels / soaps) but I do supply my own shampoo and conditioner. Quote
vinapu Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 I don't like those small bottles simply because they are wasteful. If hotel provides them and I did not use whole content I take them to my next hotel. I don't mind dispensers but I don't like liquid soap and always carry regular bar of soap with me or buy it locally right after arrival so dispensers for me are for shampoo only maump and Rent Boy 2 Quote
PeterRS Posted February 28, 2023 Posted February 28, 2023 Having just stayed in a hotel with wonderful Verbena toiletries in small bottles, I do much prefer them over dispensers. But if it was just the usual little bottles with what i'd call ordinary shampoo etc., I'd certainly prefer the dispensers. On the other hand, I fully accept the smaller neck of small bottles can can make it difficult to get the damn stuff out - and it can certainly be wasteful as I can never actually empty them! Quote
Members JKane Posted February 28, 2023 Members Posted February 28, 2023 Yeah, the small bottles are extremely wasteful but I collect a bunch of extras for my guest bedroom/bathroom. Classy? maump and vinapu 2 Quote

Members scott456 Posted March 1, 2023 Members Posted March 1, 2023 I don't have any preference, but most 4 and 5 star hotels still give you small bottles. Quote
