gerefan Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 So when should you have had the vaccinations? I want to leave Thailand next week to visit Cambodia and return the here the following week. Will my two jabs done back in April and June 2021 (nearly two years ago) be acceptable? BieBie 1 Quote

According to Bangkok Post, you are ok: All visitors to Thailand must show proof of at least two Covid-19 vaccinations under revised rules that coincide with the revival of travel from China, authorities said on Thursday. BieBie Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 most likely airlines will have to check vaccine status at departure airport, as they would be responsible for repatriation if that might be needed MarcSingap and fedssocr 2 Quote
fedssocr Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 exactly, it will be the airlines' job at checkin Richard Barrow seemed to indicate that this will only be until 31 January. But I suppose it could get extended. Maybe they're putting this in place due to China opening up but not wanting to single out the PRC so it applies to everyone Tartegogo 1 Quote

Londoner Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 We shall need to show proof at check-in. An interesting post on the Sawatdee Forum reports that 20% of Chinese visitors to a Korean airport have just proved positive when taking a mandatory Covid test on arrival. If you don't meet the clot shot requirements you MAY be asked to test on arrival. Can't see that happening. These requirements are only for international flight arrivals. Not land borders. I have said I didn't submit to the death injections. I didn't say I wasn't in possession of a covid vaccine certificate. I actually have 2, from 2 different countries. There are tons of websites, and even a place in Pattaya where these can be purchased. Now run along and get your booster, you clearly need it. GWMinUS, VancBCMan, Mavica and 4 others 7 Quote

Popular Post MarcSingap Posted January 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted January 9, 2023 Total mess !!! Bangkok News this morning (Monday) : "The government on Monday rescinded a policy announced at the weekend requiring visitors to show proof of Covid-19 vaccination, Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said, citing sufficient immunisation levels... The country's aviation authority had on Saturday announced the restrictions, effective Monday, ahead of an expected deluge of visitors from China, where Covid-19 cases have surged. In an abrupt U-turn on Monday, Mr Anutin said requiring visitors to show evidence of two vaccine doses was "inconvenient" and a panel of experts had resolved that it was unnecessary as enough vaccinations... Mr Anutin said visitors not vaccinated at all would also be granted entry without restriction. Authorities will still require foreigners whose next destination is a country requiring a negative pre-entry Covid-19 test to show they have health insurance covering treatment for the disease, Mr Anutin..." I planned to fly from Europe to Phuket in 10 days, an island that will then be infected by thousands of Chinese visitors... Quite stressful as i need then to go to work in Singapore and i can't take the risk to be tested positive in Singapore... aussie_, GWMinUS, TMax and 4 others 6 1 Quote

I worry about what the authorities will require me to do in the case of me being infected... And of course we can think of the elderly Thai people who can't afford to be vaccinated and who are too poor to go to a decent Hospital if they are infected by Chinese visitors. A very different story from what can happen to us, rich White privileged visitors... TMax 1 Quote

Londoner Posted January 10, 2023 Posted January 10, 2023 Ever the pessimist and with my next trip planned for March, my nightmare scenario is that the influx of Chinese tourists from a country which has yet to control the pandemic will lead to "hotspots" in Thailand in tourist areas. This could result in the Government panicking and, before long, we could be back to the dreaded Pass- or even quarantine. I felt for those whom the just-rescinded regulations affected but for those who've been vaccinated ( I assume the vast majority), presenting a piece of paper at check-in wouldn't have been too much trouble. Unlike experiencing a spike in Covid cases. TMax and Ruthrieston 1 1 Quote
