PattayaMale Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Have you ever been treated at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital? Well a 57 year old lady was pronounced dead there. Her family came to collect the body and the lady "woke-up". This according to Pattaya Daily News. hmmmmm Fantastic medical advances! Full article Quote
Guest jtrack33 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I couldn't get the Pattaya Daily News page to open, but as it's Pattaya Bangkok Hospital, I would assume they woke the patient up after discovering the parents still had some cash. My choice in Pattaya for competent medical services at a fair price would be Pattaya International Hospital on soi 4. But I guess to a certain extent even hospitals are like boy bars and the individual makes or breaks the experience and although all are money boys, some give value and some don't. Quote

Full article These fluky things happen in hospitals all over the world. I remember that in the 70's a patient was missing from Hines VA Hospital in Chicago. He was found dead 3 days later in a wheelchair in an elevator. At another Chicago hospital where I worked and EKG technician came to the nurse's desk and said the doctor should be called about the patient she had just done an EKG on because the strip showed abnormalities. The patient had been dead about 2 hours and we were waiting for the family to come in before moving him to the morgue. Quote

Guest Soi10Tom Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 After sending a critically injured man off in the back of a pick up truck to die because he didn't have his ID or $$$$$$ on him (stolen after the accident), and installing stints that were too small in a friends heart (now corrected by Bumrungrad)....now this!!!!! Enough said as to my opinion of Bangkok Pattaya Hospital.... Quote

I remember that in the 70's a patient was missing from Hines VA Hospital in Chicago. He was found dead 3 days later in a wheelchair in an elevator. I remember the story of a Florida hospital that amputated the wrong leg of a patient. I am sure almost every hospital has made some mistakes, some worse than others. Bangkok Pattaya Hospital seems to be an "alright" hospital in my book, although I have never used them for any major procedures. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I remember the story of a Florida hospital that amputated the wrong leg of a patient. I remember this case too. Of course, they then had to amputate the other leg. The guy sued and lost the case. Quote

Guest shebavon Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I have used Bangkok Pattaya numerous times in the past 4 years, and have absolutely no complaints about any services I received. They have always been prompt, thorough, and professional. Quote
Guest RichLB Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 I've had a couple experiences there and never had a problem. While I would always go to Bumrungrad if given the choice, Bangkok Pattaya hospital seems vastly superior to any hospitals I have experienced in the US. I wouldn't want readers here to assume that medical care here in Pattaya (and Thailand in general) is any reason to stay away. Quote
Gaybutton Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 no complaints about any services I received. Unfortunately it doesn't work that way for everybody. The service I've received there has always been excellent, but I have not always been so fortunate with the competence of the doctors. Many of the doctors are not staff doctors. They have private practices and also maintain office space at the hospital. My chief complaint about this hospital is the cost. It is much more expensive to go there than any other local hospital. Also, some of the treatment that was recommended to me was unnecessary. The dental clinic is a good example. The dental clinic is excellent. Meanwhile, the local clinic I go to is staffed by several of the same dentists who also work at Bangkok-Pattaya. Their facilities are just as good as what you'll find at Bangkok-Pattaya, but the price is a fraction of what I have paid for precisely the same treatment at Bangkok-Pattaya, and their service is just as good as Bangkok-Pattaya. In my case, because of some of the unnecessary tests, the cost, personal experiences, and mixed reviews from people, I choose to go to Bangkok-Pattaya only in case of an emergency, and that's only because it's the closest hospital to where I live. If you're satisfied with the care and treatment you've received there and are willing to pay their price, that's your choice. My choice, if it's not an emergency that requires me to get to the nearest hospital as quickly as possible, is to start with either Memorial Hospital or Queen Sirikit Hospital (in Sattahip), or Dr. Belen.
