Dreamboys was also quite good patronized. Hot Male so, so, may be 10 clients but at least 3 offs( one of them double, just reported in another thread)during my time there. Perhaps all that "bars are expensive , apps are cheaper" ( I'm not saying false ) propaganda is seeping into clients ears and bars are being abandoned one by one ? But with boys fully or at least half dressed it may be their fate. Only bar where guys are wearing just undies if that much- Tawan seems to be well patronized although considering their new size it's not tall order to make it crowded. what about Moonlight ? quite alone in small soi... i am curious to try but i don't like being the only customer... Londoner Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Yes, Koreans much in evidence. The Korean restaurants were usually the only mall-restaurants that were full. Apart from MK, of course. I tentatively suggest that there may have been fewer Indian guys in November than July. Quote
macaroni21 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 Here's a question for those who were recently in Dream Boy Bangkok. Outside of showtime, when the boys were on stage with their numbers pinned to their waists, were they in jeans, shorts or briefs? In July they were in jeans and some of us registered our protests with the mamasans. I'm wondering if they have changed their policy. Quote
reader Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 When I visited Freshboys in October with PaulSF, the show was very well attended. We arrived about 20 minutes early and got an opportunity not only to select our preferred seats but also to view the guys before the lighting was turned down for the show. Recommended. For those who want to get a sneak peek of what the stage boys look like on any given night at Dreamboy, some can be found sitting outside the entrance in the alley between Patpong 1 and Patpong 2. I've seen them lounging about smoking during the show when they're not required on stage and also at random times before and after show. khaolakguy 1 Quote

They used to be gay go-go bars, and gay customers used to be able to go to them to meet cute young gay men. They used to seem like gay havens, much like straight go-go bars must seem like havens for their customers. But they have since morphed into something else. Now they are all about drag shows, big cock shows and other kinds of shows. These acts draw a lot of straight female customers and straight Asians who arrive in big groups. So if you're an old-timer looking for the kind of experience that used to be available at these places, you're likely to be disappointed by: 1) the high prices; 2) the seemingly never-ending shows; 3) a lot of straight customers who totally change the energy of these bars. The energy used to be that of sexual expectation. Now it's more of a spectating experience, like going to watch a movie with friends. And these bars, at least the three on Patpong, no longer feel like havens. They feel like the gay customers have become part of the show for the straight customers to gawk at. I agree with you 200 percent. As you can see from my blogpost of September 2022 (Bangkok gogo bars: 15 years of price rises) I came to same conclusion. The bars got themselves into a vicious cycle of focussing on shows (which were never more than third rate), reeling straight gawkers in and relentless price rises. I also have records from 10 - 15 years ago where I noted my observations regarding customer numbers, and the current footfall that the bars are getting is only about half of what these bars had in 2008 - 2010. Actually, since there were twice as many bars in operation in 2008 - 2010, this means that the footfall today in all the existing bars combined is perhaps only a quarter of the traffic the entire industry had in those years. What we need are a couple more places with the easy-going atmosphere of Tawan, but differentiating themselves by having twinks, boys-next-door, etc so as not to compete directly against each other. That entrance/exit is also more discreet than the main entrance on Patong Two, should you wish to avoid friends or acquaintances in that street. 6 hours ago, macaroni21 said: Here's a question for those who were recently in Dream Boy Bangkok. If you stumbled into the Hard Cock show preparation room, the guys were wall to wall wanking out of even the briefs. There is sure some truth in the above comment. I have been three times this year and I went to Freshboys every night I was in Bangkok. Plus some other venues. I don't think the lads are getting many offs, unless they are stars. And I see many customers arriving for the shows there so this encourages the management to do long shows. I'm in touch with multiple men who work in these bars and their current reports are very various on business. I think if they can get a couple of offs a week they are fine. If they are not popular and spend night after night grossing 400 bt and spending 200 bt on taxis it is not sustainable. If we were once young and penniless we can be a bit generous to them. reader, MarcSingap, Ruthrieston and 1 other 4 Quote

Not only in Bangkok but also over here in Pattaya - Jomtien. As a newly retired guy here in Jomtien - what is disconcerting is the lack of synergy to sustain the 3 distinct areas - Sunee, Boyztown, and the Jomtien Complex. ONLY the Jomtien Complex has a unifying website augmented with Twitter feeds to promote their 30 bars and social activities that take place in the Complex. Both Boyztown and Sunee are intentionally left out of this website and consequently, Boyztown and Sunee need to fend for themselves. Sunee is almost dead and lifeless and Boyztown is much smaller than in the previous decades. 10 hours ago, floridarob said: There is no one behind us replacing us.....When I'm traveling in the US, I rarely see young guys on the apps.....like the quote below shows, they don't know how to socialize and with all the free porn online,,,,,, Researchers have found that Generation Z is less likely to be having regular sex than their parents and grandparents. Don't the generations that come after us also want sex ? relationships? to travel and live in places outside of their native countries ? I fear that we (us in these forums) will be the last men standing and then after we die - everything will just evaporate as dust into the wind..... Or, is it that the youngsters of today have found other destinations? (Canary Islands, Mykonos, Ibiza ??) even this list is probably dated - as I have no connections with the younger generations. I do note that there is a large contingent of young Russians here in Pattaya - Jomtien - so perhaps they will maintain our institutions (Sunee, Boyztown, Jomtien Complex) when we die off ?? Quote

Popular Post musgrave Posted December 17, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 17, 2022 Dreamboys last night - at least 40-50 boys dressed in white shorts. A respectable number of customers but not enough to match with all the boys. The show was entertaining albeit with the usual lipsyncing ( not my thing) my preference is to look at boys!! The highlight was the young gay audience member who joined the bearded lady boy on stage. Some of the boy routines appeared be still being fine tuned but they offered plenty to look at. As did the older ladyboy who did Donna Summer song - still not sure where all that ribbon came from!!! A wide range of boys to meet all tastes - there was one there who more than met mine. Enjoyed it enough to return tonight reader, MarcSingap, BL8gPt and 2 others 4 1 Quote

In Western countries there is a huge epidemic of loneliness. Big percentages have few or no friends in real life. A huge number haven't had sex with another person in over a year. It's not that they don't want to have sex, they're just poorly socialized. All of those sexually frustrated young men (with access to high powered weapons in America) are a big problem. Obviously there are still some places where young people are still boinking (and making lots of babies), but I'd guess that is in places with less access to social media apps and phones. And those places are fewer and fewer all the time This could be no more accurate! As I said in another post quite recently, I regard social media as "unsocial media". I have a young Thai friend. He is intelligent, cute, has just graduated from university, speaks reaosnable English and has started his first job. He desperately wants to meet and fall in love with a foreigner. It has nothing (or very little) to do with cash or moving to a foreign country. He just wants the love and companionship of another human being. He happens to be a friend of my partner and we have met up quite often. A few weeks ago he had met a foreigner about whom he was becoming crazy. So the four of us went for dinner one night. This young man hardly spoke to his 'crush' during dinner, spending most of his time texting and staring at his phone. Afterwards, I told him quite firmly that when he was out with a foreigner the mobile phone stayed firmly in his pocket. He also had to learn the basics of starting conversations and making his foreigner friends feel he was at least interested in them - and not only in bed.
