low season hotel rates

Does any one know why the 2 main gay hotels in pattaya do not lower their rates in the low season. If you look at the Phuket hotels , they tend to raise and lower theirs ,depending on the time of year .I expect this is because the pattaya hotels think that they have a captive market regardless of what is going on in the rest of the western world regarding the cashflow suition Also althought , i am not at present in pattaya, I have heard on the grape vine that both hotels have again increased their drink prices. Is this true

Phuket, and the rest of the Andaman coast, is very seasonal. A beach vacation is best when it's sunny.

Some Pattaya hotels keep the same pricing all year round or have only minor variations throughout the year. Perhaps "peak" season from the end of December to mid January is the exception.

If the famous Boyztown hotels are a ripoff then stay at the cheap and friendly 2 Guys! Or the gay friendly (but mostly straight monger crowd) Pattaya Bay Resort is perhaps the best low season value in Pattaya. Only 999 a night including 2 free brekkies if u wake up early and last year the 7th night was free. But at 1400 a night in high season, although an acceptable choice, it's no longer a screaming value.

My guess is they don't lower the rates because they don't have to. As far as I know, both hotels are usually fully booked. It seems to me that the way to get the most accurate answer would be to send an Email to them and ask. Both hotels do have Email addresses.

REgarding what gaybutton says above , I have been informed by an ex-pat that last week out of approx 30 odd rooms , the cafe royale only had 7 in use, and its not yet low season

My take is that the Boyztown hotels are unique and not as price sensitive as the hundreds of other hotels in Pattaya.
