Olddaddy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 What safety type measures do you use when bringing guys back to your room that you say hooked up with either on the apps /Grinder or on from the street ? I only had one guy who tried to put it over me last trip, got him from Grindr ,he was apparently from Bangkok arrived in Pattaya found him on Grindr Sort of quarter middle eastern Thai face features He arrived at my room in the Zing in jomtien complex and as soon as he arrives demands the money first ! I say get hold up that's not how it works ,he tried to intimidate me by standing close , but I didn't back down and he relented ,yes we did do the deed and he didn't mention it but seemed a little unhappy. As for other countries other than Thailand do you have any other safety measures you use ? Such as middle eastern countries? I never forget the story Crabby used to tell over ,Crabby was the guy who used to own Corner Bar back in 2009-2011 in Sunee , always used to say he had to keep a shotgun when he brought guys back in the USA I wouldn't go that far but I guess in some countries you may have to 😂 Thailand you don't really have any trouble, but having said that ,I have seen or heard farangs to be assaulted. I remember that case years ago the Farang in Chiang mai killed by the boys he brought back I remember also the Farang stabbed to death near Sunee Plaza ,Colin ? I remember the guy who used to own the business in Boyztown set upon in Sunee Plaza as he exited a restaurant. Of course there more to these stories than some random attack but still the Philippines the only problem I had was making sure they were of legal age because I had heard stories of being setup , it didn't happen as I preferred older mature guys but I did get some suspicious age guys always trying to contact me Quote
Popular Post reader Posted October 5, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 5, 2022 None has served me better than “trust your instincts.” if the situation looks wrong, feels wrong or just leaves you undecided, heed the message and disengage. Don’t second guess yourself. Sure, it’s possible you’re misjudging the situation but your instincts will minimize the risk of a bad outcome. I can only recall a handful of incidents where this actually kicked in. But they all involved total strangers met on the street. The one that stands out was a guy hanging out on the large steps of the K-bank on Surawong, near the old Twlight site. He offered me a body massage and I brought him back to Tarntawan. After what was just some rubbing my back, he demanded in no uncertain terms that I give him 2,000 bht. I handed him 500 and he took it but still wanted the rest, saying “I not leaving.” It wasn’t until I picked up phone that he shouted some obscenity and left. A few minutes later I got the call from elevator guard if everything was ok. I was tempted to say no but since no physical threat had been made, I let it go. That was probably 15 years ago, but it was the incident that convinced me not to again put myself into a situation that—on reflection—felt wrong from the start. The guy was a bit unkept and badly needed a shower, something I realized back in the room. And he never smiled or said much at all on walk to hotel. And yes, my prior alcohol intake clouded my judgement to some degree. That’s why I much prefer massage shops or bars as meeting venues. Overall, I feel safer in Thailand than in any other country (crossing streets and riding motor bikes excepted). Boy69, Ruthrieston, sydneyboy1 and 4 others 7 Quote

vinapu Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 never felt threatened or unsafe in Thailand although I took street trade only once and it went smoothly. Two times had unpleasant situation when guy demanded more than we agreed ( I almost always discuss compensation up front ) , one guy gave up and left unhappy, other one refused to leave until I pay so I did in order not to create a scene. Late night/ early morning stroll through empty Silom and Patpong is actually one of my small pleasures in life. In room I don't tempt fate so keep money in the safe but nothing paranoid, whatever is in my pockets , stays there and was never lifted up. I have system of assigning fixed amount to each pocket so it's easy for me to check. Possibly had once 500 baht stolen in crowded BTS but even that I'm not sure as it's possibility that I dropped banknote when pulling money to buy a ticket . reader, TMax, scott456 and 1 other 4 Quote

a-447 Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 I once had a scary encounter back in the days when Screwboy used to be in Soi Twilight. The guy I offed immediately hopped into bed and went to sleep! I woke him up and told him he was invited back to do something else but he simply refused. I lay next to him wondering what to do? When I told him we were wasting time and asked him to leave, he becane angry, got in my face and demanded payment. He was bigger and stronger than me and even though I probably could have taken care of myself as I have a background in martial arts, I wasn't going to risk it. I'm not sure how much I paid him but I was happy just to get him out of the room. But the next night I got my revenge! I went to Screwboy every night to off someone and I spent liberally on drinks for the boys. I was a valued customer. I walked past the bar and one of the waiters rushed out to greet me and lead me to my usual seat. I smiled and walked on by. He came chasing after me. I told him what had happened and that I wouldn't be coming back to the bar - I'd take my business elsewhere. He apologised profusely and asked me to come into the bar and identify the guy. He was sitting with another customer. When he saw me he smiled and acted as though nothing had happened. After pointing him out to the waiter I got up and left. The next night the waiter came up to me and told me the boy had been fired! I had the following experience on a trip to Bali back in 2014: Just had a very unfortunate situation with Eddy. He came around at 2 pm for sex and I paid him the usual $30. But he wanted an extra $10. I told him he would not be getting another rupiah more and that he was willing to accept the $30 I'd paid him the day before. And as he'd turned up again today, I was of the understanding that he knew I'd pay the same as yesterday. But he wouldn't take no for an answer and refused to leave the room. After about about 15 minutes of a stalemate I finally just walked out of the room and left him there. I went to the bank and came back and he was still there, refusing to go. I was about to ask reception to call the police but I had a better idea. I called the cleaning staff and told them to lock the room when they'd finished. I hid down by the pool and waited for him to finally leave. What's wrong with these guys? Have they no business sense at all? I told him in bed that I wanted him to come around every day and that I was considering staying an extra week. That's a guaranteed income for him every day. And it's the going rate. Of course, he'll probably turn up tomorrow but I'll have nothing more to do with him. What a loser! Ruthrieston, Olddaddy and vinapu 2 1 Quote

On those occasions, I just told them once the services meet my expectations than I pay for the time and fun promised. The money upfront happened to those foreigners working in Thailand, two were Russians and three were from Bangaladesh. The one asked more money for transportation, I called the front desk to removed him from the hotel. The hotel was very cooperated and very protective of guest. They even told me not to hesitant to call the security if it happens again or if those guys make me feel uncomfortable. Call the front desk to remove them and never keep up on anything that were not in the table or upon an agreement. Ruthrieston and Olddaddy 2 Quote

Members scott456 Posted October 5, 2022 Members Posted October 5, 2022 I was drugged by a guy at G.O.D., I think he put something in my drink while we were flirting and making out in the "love seat" area on top floor. I passed out for a few minutes, all the money in my pocket were gone. (Not a lot of money though, maybe a few hundred baht, I always bring just enough to cover my clubbing for the night and I always stay in Silom area within walking distance of the actions) Ruthrieston, Olddaddy and floridarob 2 1 Quote
zoomomancs Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 A safety measure that nearly came unstuck. I keep debit cards in the safe or on me but I put a back up bank card in the bottom of my rucksack. My first long time Thai man created a row while we were eating in a restaurant near the hotel, got up and stormed back to the hotel. This was the night before I was flying home. For some reason I looked in the rucksack and no card was there. I said I was going to the hotel reception to talk to them. When I returned to the room, the bank card had appeared on the floor. Another time I was stupid and left a little man bag with about 27,000 bt on the table in a massage room while I had a massage. After the massage I fell asleep and when I woke up there was 7,000 bt in my man bag and the masseur had vanished. Do not do similar, lol. Ruthrieston 1 Quote

I collect watches as a hobby , but I never take anything expensive with me when I travel to Thailand. However, on one occasion I was sitting on the plane and when I checked the time, realised that I'd forgotten to swap over to the cheap watch I bought at the Patpong night market. I went to a massage place near Tukom in Pattaya. I took off my watch, placed it on the side table in the room and had a shower. After the massage I got changed and left but within a minute realised I'd left my watch behind so went back to get it. Needless to say, it wasn't there. The masseur and the boss pretended to search for it but, surprise, surprise, it was nowhere to be found. The masseur had a small bag and I should have asked him let me search it but I thought that might be going a bit too far. I returned the next day and offered a substantial amount of money as a reward if it were found. I was told they'd have another look and to come back the next day. It hadn't been found. It had obviously been disposed of, probably for a few hundred baht. I blame myself rather than the masseur. I should have put the watch in the safe and gone out and bought a cheap one. And the temptation for the masseur was too great, I suppose. Lesson learnt. Mavica, Lonnie and Ruthrieston 2 1 Quote

Once in Raya I left freshly exchanged quite a few thousand on the table in wide opened backpack, it was like almost in pure view. I did not realize that until morning when it was time to pay and yes , money was still there. Only difference was that it was not my first ( neither last time ) with that guy. quite often when I'm entertained by well rehearsed guy I may have money ready and point to him - "this is yours" before we even start sinning. Universally they collect it always after the session. Lonnie and Ruthrieston 2 Quote
Shonen Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 Sometimes they can be very bold. I had just arrived in Thailand and I went to Montes pool area. Sitting there was a cute Thai waiting for any customers. We went into the small bathroom there and he was servicing me. Within seconds he was rummaging through my cargo shorts looking for money. It was so obvious it was comical. I slapped his hand and he continued work. Ended up being a great time and I tipped him 600 baht. Olddaddy, Mavica, Lonnie and 1 other 2 2 Quote

Not in Thailand, but when I lived in both Chicago and Mexico City and frequented adult bookstores with video booths 😛... guys going down on me in a booth sometimes put their hands in my jean pockets hugging my ankles, looking for money. I was never victimized, though, but some acquaintances of mine have been. zoomomancs Posted October 6, 2022 Posted October 6, 2022 To be fair I can't recall other thefts from me in Thailand in about 44 month long visits in 11 years. When I bring a man back to sleep I really should remember to put my wallet in the safe. As well as it being safer there it avoids any self questioning the next morning along the lines of: 'did I really spend 10,000bt last night or has some gone missing'. Having done a few 'crazy' things in the past I will state the obvious advice about our physical safety for anyone coming for the first time: avoid confrontation, smile and remain pleasant through difficult encounters, the combination of jet lag, dehydration, alcohol and lack of sleep can set us on unwise roads, read up on Thai scams, 'face' is extremely important, agree it's on the meter or a set price getting into a taxi. I'm sure you can all add more. vinapu 1 Quote
Olddaddy Posted October 6, 2022 Author Posted October 6, 2022 In July flying from Bangkok to Manila economy class I had the aisle seat in a 3 seat row. The middle seat was vacant until the last minute when a chubby young Filipino guy came along, he looked more Hawaiian or Pacific islander with a ponytail. He was probably about 21/22, stopping besides me in the aisle his words were ' " get up,I'm sitting in the middle"! I was a little taken aback, but I got up and he moved in the seat SItting in the middle he was chubby so it was uncomfortable, I put up with it even him pushing up the seat divider and leaning into me . I had to practically lean out into the aisle as his shoulder touched mine , "excuse me ! He exclaimed I still ignored him and took his rudeness because I didn't want trouble . I'm a big guy too but more muscle, on arrival of our food tray I offered him one of my cakes thinking he would act more polite ,he snatched it out of my hand . no thanks,no nothing ,just snatched it from my hand I held myself quiet so hard to do to a rude young pig like him.
