Guest MonkeySee Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 This is a report I saw from one of the expat clubs in Pattaya: "AN ATTEMPT TO CREATE A NEW GUINNESS BOOK OF RECORDS ACTIVITY- At a press briefing on February 4, 2009, Chonburi Governor Surapon announced that the Province will sponsor an attempt to create a new Guinness Book of Records activity using Aqua Exercise. The attempt will be made on April 28, 2009 in the water in front of Pattaya Beach Road Soi 4, and will include from 1000 to 2000 people - or more. The Province has allocated 1.5 million baht to the project. Pattaya Mayor Ittiphol, Nai Amphur (Banglamung District Chief) Mongkol, various government sports agencies, local hotels and club members are part of the organizing committee with Bangkok Hospital Pattaya's Dr. Moryoon Preutthan as the coordinator. Dr. Moryoon will be with us for a short briefing on the planning for the event this Sunday and may ask for volunteers for this unusual event." Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 What, exactly, are the going to attempt to do? Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 What, exactly, are the going to attempt to do? Think it's water aerobics which sounds cool but ir really for old Florida ladies. But I suppose it'll promote Pattaya as a destination not for perverts only? Or a signal that the water treatment plant is working OK? Quote
Gaybutton Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 If Pattaya really does make the Guinness Book, it won't be the first time. A couple years ago Bob's BBQ made it to the Guinness Book for having created the world's largest hamburger. See: http://www.bobs-bbq.com/museum_bb_photo.htm Quote
Guest buckeroo2 Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 What about the creepy scorpion lady at Ripley's last month enclosed in that glass box with all of those scorpions. Was that a Guinness event or just something promoted by Ripley's? Quote
