Thai prices at the moment must be as good as anywhere else in the world, taking into account the quality available. We're booked into the Amara in Chiang Mai- a 4* place- in November; prices are only 50% of what they were in the January pre-Covid, our last visit, though no breakfast. And I've already mentioned the 1200bht pn at Agate. In March the price rises to 1500. Remarkable value. No, hotel room rates have gone up in other part of the world, particularly in Europe and U.S., even higher now than pre-covid price. Cheaper rates are mostly found in Asia only. Quote

They will try to do as hotels in other countries have, when bookings pick up, they'll need to recoup what was lost for the past 3 yrs. Quote

In Thailand prices go UP in a quiet time to cover losses. Quote

Not just Thailand, bar owners in the Philippines (Angeles city) have been doing that for many years now (at least since the early 1990's). The moment business drops off up go the prices, funny enough it's the bars that are owned by foreigners that started the trend over there. Boy69, Patanawet and vinapu 2 1 Quote
