Popular Post reader Posted September 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 22, 2022 From Thai PBS World BANGKOK, Sept 22 (TNA) – Visitors will not have to undergo antigen tests or show their vaccination evidence when health authorities redefine COVID-19 as a communicable disease under surveillance on Oct 1. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said the National Communicable Disease Committee resolved to consider COVID-19 as a communicable disease under surveillance instead of a dangerous communicable disease. Officials concerned in all provinces would adjust their action plans and measures related to COVID-19 accordingly, he said. When COVID-19 becomes a communicable disease under surveillance, visitors will not be required to show the documents of their antigen tests or COVID-19 vaccination at international communicable disease checkpoints. Random checks on COVID-19 vaccination records will stop. The people who had COVID-19 but were asymptomatic would only observe distancing, mask wearing, hand washing and testing (DMHT) measures for five days, Mr Anutin said. The new measures would be proposed to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration and the cabinet for approval. He expected the measures to take effect on Oct 1. People could remove their face masks when they exercised outdoors or did other activities that should not require face masks, Mr Anutin said. TMax, vinapu, tm_nyc and 3 others 4 2 Quote

xpaulo Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 Canada is also ending the vaccination requirement on Oct 1. And people don't have to fill out the pre-entry form if they don't want to. Government still mulling over whether to keep masking on planes and trains. TMax 1 Quote
joshhb Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Despite the relaxation of the rules Thailand is still the Land of Masks. Near 100% wearing outside. Even on beaches. Ruthrieston 1 Quote

TotallyOz Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 I am OK with the masks. It does not bother me in the least. I am OK with no masks. It does not bother me in the least. I do prefer a gogo boy be maskless when we shower. But, if I think cute enough (not sure you see with a mask), I'm OK with the mask. Sometimes things are better left to the imagination. But, I am happy to be at the end of this thing. I hope. TMax 1 Quote

Londoner Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Thai passengers on Pattaya baht-buses last month wore masks . I follow the customs of locals in this, as in other matters. By the way, UK visitors should remember that a spike in cases has already happened here due to the start of autumn. And I shall certainly wear a mask on the plane when I fly to BKK next month. floridarob and Ruthrieston 2 Quote

Londoner Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 As a diabetic, I give many fucks when it comes to health in my declining years. I expect to enjoy Thailand for a few years to come and remain determined not to take unnecessary risks. I shall also wear a seat-belt on my way to the airport. vinapu, TMax, Ruthrieston and 1 other 4 Quote
emiel1981 Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 The only place I still wear a mask while in Thailand now, was on planes and in the skytrain / metro. As these are the places where you get in close contact with many people. But walking in the street, in shopping mall or 7eleven I didn't put on a mask. While almost all local people still wear their mask ANYWHERE. Even outside. Only exception was the gogo bars, there the boys didn't wear masks. Hahaha. TMax 1 Quote
