Popular Post WelshGuyUK Posted September 1, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 1, 2022 Hi all I was in BKK for a few days last week in April and 3 weeks in May and always meant to write a report but never did do. I then moved to Jomtien for the majority of the holiday with a break with a German friend and two Cambodian acquaintances. It was nice treating the Cambodian boys to their first ever time flying and had a lovely 5 day excursion with two lovely boys. As it was low season, accomodation was fairly cheap and I spent most of my stay at the Agate, which I loved at 1000 baht per night. It really is a gorgeous hotel with everything I need. So surprisingly quiet with amazing ambiance around the pool area. There was no breakfast or Sauna due to Covid but that made price cheaper. I am due to fly back to LOS on 13 October, only for 3 weeks this time, and looking forward to it yet again. My straight friend is coming also on 29 October and wants to join me in Jomtien to " dabble with boys and Ladyboy" so that will be interesting 😜 I'll write a report next time I promise 🤣 Londoner, vinapu, vaughn and 3 others 6 Quote

Ruthrieston Posted September 2, 2022 Posted September 2, 2022 Just wait until the Chinese tour groups return to the Agate! I remember seeing two coach loads disgorging outside the Agate before the pandemic. WelshGuyUK 1 Quote

They would not be taking them to the Agate but to the Blind Massage place next door to it. I mentioned a coach in my report from 2020. The coaches would arrive late in the evening and then the groups would take breakfast early the next morning. And then leave en masse. I never saw them around the pool, or in the Complex. Or anywhere. We assumed that the overnight stays were for the purpose of easing travel to the airport...or somewhere. We saw the same thing happening at our hotel in Seminyak, Bali a few years ago. it must be a money-spinner for the hotels! floridarob 1 Quote

To cover maximum territory, glance over attractions, arrive for supper , wake up early , have breakfast and go again. It's why I hate them. But they have their use and most economical way to get to less accessible, remote places. floridarob 1 Quote
Londoner Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Yes...I remember this practice at Tarntawan in BKK....but the odd thing about the Agate ones was that the group who arrived in the evening weren't the same as those who'd previously left in the morning with their bags. The groups were one-nighters. Quote
