PattayaMale Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I usually never go to the Thai disco's. In fact until last night I don't think I have been in one for 5 years...or more. But a friend had 2 young (33 year old) guys visit from the US and they wanted to see a disco. I tried to get my Thai friend to take them since they are about the same age, but he insisted that I go too. So after a meal at ZAZA in Jomtien and a drink at Festival Bar we headed to Xzyte at about 11:00pm. Before when I went to Xzyte it was always full. However, last night it seemed almost empty. I was really surprised. The stage show was very good as it had always been. The guests had a good time. Then it was off to Xray. I have never been to Xray and was not going to change that so at 12:30 I sent them on their way with my Thai friend who by this time was comfortable to go alone with them. At 6:30am my Thai friend came home and said they all had a good time. Xray he said was packed. It is much smaller than Xzyte. The Coyote boys were good and the 2 American friends enjoyed dancing as is done in America. My Thai friend said he did not like the heavy smoking that went on as it burned his eyes, but since this was his first time he said he would like to go back some day........Maybe he mentioned the heavy smoke as he knew that would keep me away for sure and he could go with out me chaperoning?????????? Guest buckeroo2 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 I have been to Xray 3 or 4 times in the past 3 months and it has always been packed and smokey - regardless of the night of the week - I have always been there after hours - after 2 AM, at least - Dave's Man Club proves to be a better alternative for me - busy but not packed - and not full of smoke - but I think Xray has more energy. Guest Astrrro Posted February 23, 2009 Posted February 23, 2009 There is a new Hollywood, in North Pattaya. Big clubs can feel very dull when empty. Size matters. I enjoy the spacious feeling of Xcyte. Don't understand why beers in the Dude Club are 150 baht. Perhaps they want to keep the riff raff out? For all these clubs I'd like to see online price lists. I want to know what I'm walking into especially if I'm entertaining a big crowd. Quote
PattayaMale Posted February 23, 2009 Author Posted February 23, 2009 One of the reasons I stopped going to Xzyte and Hollywood was that every time I went it was costing 4,000 baht or more. Discos here are not much fun unless you have a crowd at your table. The crowd at the table grows very fast and of course no one splits the bill, the Farang is the one that pays. Quote
Guest Astrrro Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 For a cost effective party atmosphere try the outdoor Issan Music Festivals, held about once a month, on 3rd Road in Pattaya. 100 baht admission and beers, mixers, and Sang Som is so cheap it's hard to run up a big bill. You get up and go to the side where the vendors are, so since you're payiong as u go there are no nasty surprises. But it's not just the money, to me being outdoors is more fun. They start at 8 and go till 1 or 2. Quote
