I haven't planned a hotel yet, I know is Nirish said he stayed in st mark hotel, any suggestions? GWMinUS Posted July 1, 2022 Share Posted July 1, 2022 Picking a Hotel depends on your budget. I like the Best Western LEX on N Escario St. Great roof top swimming pool and good breakfast buffet. But not Gay Bars near there. If you want to stay next to Ayala Center, the largest mall in Cebu, then look at the Quest. Within easy walking distance to the Mall, good choice of breakfast, and again a great swimming pool. For night life you should plan an all nighter at one of the two Discos. ICON in central Cebu City and OQTAGON in Mandaue City. Both just get started about 10pm and go until 5am. I guess there are a few Go Go Bars there, but I have not been to them. Enjoy!! Ok I was a little bit silly took a tout hire care 700 pesos to city from airport when I probably could of got a taxi for 300 pesos ! But I'm blamed it in my filipino bf obviously it's my fault as I started talking to the tout who approached me ,but the Cebu airport to city is about 30 minutes so I guess it's about 300/400 in a taxi? next time I will know, first time to Cebu I get scammed out of 300 /400 pesos ,oh well 😁 next time I will just go to the taxi rank ! I mean I could be wrong but I'm sure I got scammed but as my Filipino bf says to me "stop harping on it,it's only like $10 ,it's not the money it's more my stupidity,why didn't I just walk out to the taxi rank like I usually do in Bangkok,no silly me goes with the first taxi tout who approsches me, ok fair enough it was a modern Mercedes Benz he drove us in but was it worth 700 pesos ???.. Anyway I'm not going to harp on about it ! I believe I could of got a taxi from the rank for probably 200 on the Meter ,but anyway silly me took a Mercedes Benz who approached me for 700 pesos ,oh well im stupid,I'm blaming my Filipino bf but he is not from Cebu so didn't know,not that it was his fault anyway , Anyway what's done is done,I paid 700 pesos to the city when I probably could of got it for 200 with a Meter taxi anyway I'm not going in about it anymore !! Well the good news is though my first night here , I booked a 5 star hotel from Agoda for 2500 pesos about $65/70 a night roughly Big gym, swimming pool ,etc I just went walking with my bf into a Filipino street area for street food and met Filipino guys eating street food,shared street food,drank beer ,hot looking boys everywhere ! That's the good thing about having a Filipino bf who is not girlish and can take you to street type places to meet genuine Filipino people. I got to my hotel in Cebu with a combination of the bus and a walk. The bus was fine, but the walk was slightly longer than I'd expected. Your dealing with uni students not lower end money boys if I can put that nicely Now here I'm seeing a lot of girlish feminine type boys working as waiters etc,good looking slim twinky types unlike other areas of the Phillipines A few of you commented that you should travel with a Filipino guy, in my experience that's a negative. Because I'm travelling with my Filipino bf I'm unable to be chatted up my many of the Filipino guys because they see that ,I prefer next to me to be alone !!! Most Pinoy guys go to the Disco. There used to be Juliana in Mango Square but maybe now it is called Club Hype. Not sure. My guys there liked going to ICON (in Central Cebu City) and OQTAGON (further out in Mandaue City). Both get going about 10pm and used to close at 5am. All are MIXED crowds. But they have great gym & sauna inside Today I walked the alayne shopping centre , many cute guys smiled at me ,many farangs and gay ones too ,I sat at a bar called the "Social" outside bar which seems to have a lot of gay farangs I think it's better to travel solo next time, my Filipino bf seems to only like air conditioning shopping malls etc as in his words "it's too hot" to go walking I like to walk & explore so in some ways I wish to be by myself . Unfortunately the gay scene is not in your face here in Cebu as in Pattaya ,not sure what Angeles City is like but that will be my next stop. Cebu is ok for tourism activities I guess, mountains, water snorkeling etc ,I'm not into that , would I come back to Cebu ? Probably not , but I will keep exploring Phillipines,so far I have done Manila, General Santos City,Davao , Cebu , out of that Manila was my favourite. Yes I agree with all your comments. I only tried the Go Go Bars in Manila and Cagayan de Oro City. The guys were hot but all STR8. And their Fees were USD100 or more. Too much!! The two you gave URLs for are the two I had heard about in Cebu City. My recommendation would be to find a sweet guy in Grinder or Romeo and take him, and maybe a couple of his friends, out to the Disco. Drink and Dance the night away!! I try to do some research on transport from the airport before I hit a new city. If I haven't, my priority is to get to my hotel with the minimum of fuss and preferably without changing from one mode of transport to another. I'd have happily paid $10 extra for an air con Mercedes if I was not sure about taxis and the possibility of taxi scams. But I'm glad you're settling in and hope you will have great trip. My go-to place to meet hot Pinoys is the gay bars with gogo boys. At least you get to see the goods and they are usually hot and nice looking. However when you 'table' a guy, some bars have a strict policy of no-touching inappropriately and the boys will get in trouble if they were caught doing it or allowing a client to do it to them. At least that's what one of the boys told me. It was a rip off because you pay a lot of money on their food and drinks and all you're allowed to do is talk to them. And they are not good conversationalist. I asked the manager that I want to take one of the boys to my hotel, she told me I have to pay a bar fine of 2,500 pesos + whatever the boy want, and their asking price is at least 10K.. so total 12,500 pesos. That's like AUD350. On top of that, the manager wanted a tip also! I never got lucky on Grindr. When they found out that I'm also a Pinoy, theyre not interested. When I offered a 'reward', a few responded wanting an amount ranging from 2,000 pesos to 10,000 pesos. I set up a meeting with a 21-yo student who looks nice in the picture and is ok with 1,000 pesos plus tip if I like his performance but when he arrived he's so effeminate and did not look anything like his pictures. I gave him what I thought was a 1,000-peso note but was only 100 pesos. It was an honest mistake and didn't mean to rip him off but I'm glad I did in a way because he wasted my time. YET when I created a fake profile of a 40-something fit white Aussie dad....I got inundated! Typical pinoys, lol... I went to the Philippines because I like to occasionally go to a different country. On average, I prefer Thai, Lao & Khmer lads to Filipinos, but there are so many Filipinos, I can still find ones I like on the apps. Then, when I did find them, they tended to be good in bed.
