Olddaddy Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Just watched a YouTube vid of a guy entering Thailand, I was surprised to see all the passengers lining up for the "Thai Pass" desk on exiting the plane and then having to line up at immigration. Only once have I used the "Fast track" service on arrival , that was around 2016 and it was great, unfortunately my budget needs to be spent on guys ,however if it's the case where the line up is full I may have to consider using the Fast track service again. They can pick you up in a golf buggy directly from the plane exit and drive you to the terminal exit and you actually go thru a different exit ,like a VIP section which was very fast as I was the only one . Unfortunately you still have to wait for your bags at the outside carousel Sorry I can't recall the cost now , I believe it was expensive then and I'm going back 5 or so years . But I hate lining up, and people pushing etc , has anyone been thru the airport lately both arriving & departing ? Watching a YouTube video a couple (backpackers) leaving for Manila showed the huge crowd lining up to departures , apparently it took them 2 hours !! Quote

Therefore, unless you travel with only cabin luggage, as one board esteemed member does, I don't see much value in paying for the fast channel, just to wait for my bag. I've also usually get through immigration in an acceptable time by walking very quickly to at least beat most people off my own plane and careful selection of lane at immigration. Quote
billyhouston Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 'Fast Track' through Immigration (and security upon leaving the country), without the buggy, is available automatically to those of us of mature years. Quote

I didn't know that, is it the Airline or airport I contact , I probably dont need the buggy , I can still walk fast usually use the travelators, but I hated lining up, and if it's anything to go by watching the latest YouTube video of the airport I'd rather pay to get through than be stuck in a line for both Thai Pass and then moving into the immigration exit line I recall years ago there was a exit lane for senior citizens, not sure if they still have that . Jez1980 Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Here is the service. https://limousine.in.th/fast-track-immigration.php have used them many times and always spot on, for me worth money spent, especially the cart. Except one time my gate literally at immigration. The still whizzed through immigration and out, they did refund my cart fee very quickly. Olddaddy and TMax 1 1 Quote

'Mature' in this case means 70 and over! There are various other groups who qualify such as business/first class passengers on most airlines (but not all and you'll probably need a card given out on board to qualify,) APEC Business Travel card holders etc. Olddaddy 1 Quote

I am much the same, walk very quickly and use the travelators to beat the others from my plane as well as many others but I find it frustrating when 2 or more people block the travelators and make it harder to get past. My last trip (so long ago now) I did my usual fast walk and just as I was getting to immigration I noticed a big crowd from another flight making their way to immigration, luckily for me I managed to arrive just in time to get in before them and save a lot of time. I didn't see any fast track alternative to that and in any case, it was quick and efficient. [No doubt recent visitors can update on this] There is of course, fast track immigration, but as long as immigration works at normal speed, you're still through before the bags are ready. So no advantage in terms of getting to the bars quickly. [I have been known to pay for faster service, as long as there's a proper benefit from doing so.] Quote
Lotusleaf Posted June 8, 2022 Posted June 8, 2022 I agree the benefit of this service would not be great in these times. Just providing info for those still interested. Although I wouldn't say no to a buggy ride from the gate to immigration sometimes. Quote
