PattayaMale Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Stopping by Gentlemen Beer Bar tonight I had a very good talk with the owner. He has owned the bar for 17 years. Most will remember it as a go-go bar. A while a go he closed the go-go bar and went home to take care of his ill mother. When he returned, he opened it as a beer bar. Anyway, tonight was his last night. He said that business is just too slow to continue. It is too bad I feel as it must be one of the best decorated beer bar in Pattaya. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 It is too bad that a long-time bar like this one will not continue. I do not know if it is true, but I heard the reason it went from a go-go bar to a beer bar is because of less "tea money" to the authorities. Quote
Guest laurence Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 One of my Thai friends works at Gentleman and has said for the past couple of years that business has been slow. Even slower under the new venue. I shall miss GC because of fond memories and where I met my long term bf during my first trip to Pattaya. And that bathroom; cleaner than clean. Quote

Guest buckeroo2 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 But you had to navigate that spiral staircase to get to it. I walked by Friday night and it was not open for a "last call". There was a sign on the premises advertising leasing possibilities - 5 floors - fuuly stocked bar, etc. I do not remember the requested terms for the lease but the sign also said the building and business are for sale for 20 million baht.
