And why take any chances??? If you take a boy from a bar and show reasonable caution, you aren't going to get into trouble..and no one following those simple ideas has gotten in trouble that anyone can verify. Just be reasonable and have fun!!! That's why I have 2 criteria: 1 Must look over 18 2 ID card must say over 18 Remember, hotel staff provide just another opinion & may not be infallible. May I suggest that we run a poll of posters' favourite gogo bars in Pattaya and Bangkok? Perhaps with some additional multiple choice points re why they are favourites - quality of shows/prices/boys cute/boys muscular etc. I'd find that very interesting. Quote

Everyone has his own favorites for a variety of reasons. There is no way I could narrow my own choice down to just one bar. There are bars many may not have even been to yet, and that includes me. I fail to see what difference it would make as to which bar would get the most votes. Run the same poll two weeks later and you would likely get entirely different results. If you wish to set up a poll that includes every go-go bar in both Bangkok and Pattaya (and I remind you that the Silom-Surawong area is not the only area in Bangkok with go-go bars), feel free, but it seems rather pointless to me. Personally, I would prefer to just let people write about their personal favorites. Quote

Like most of this type of polling, the results would merely offer a very general snapshot of favourites - and why they are favourites - of one particular group of people at one moment in time. Since there have been a considerable number of posts about favourite bars or bars of a particular type, it might therefore prove a useful (and I do again stress 'general') guide, especially for visitors. If annual, it could also highlight relative changes in popularity. But I fully acccept it would require a lot of work and I'd be happy to chip in time to undertake some research . But I guess there are probably other sites/publications that already do this. Quote

In Nice Boys, I prefer the waitstaff to the dancing boys. Once I hit Nice Boys on the night of a tatoo contest. I prefered any of the dancers to who I felt was the most attractive muscle boy in the contest, and prefered any of the waitstaff to my favorite dancer. But comfortable seating at a decent volume. I'd prefer if drink prices were at the Euroboys/CocktailBoys level so i could drink instead of nurse. I find that at 100 baht, I'm willing to drink freely at a gogo but when it's 130/140 I will only order a second beer under very rare circumstances. Quote

And there is enough of those types here, that I will put up with the tacky interior and overpriced drinks. I nurse too. I understand renovations are now happening. I never intended the poll be all-inclusive and did stress "favourite bars". A fully inclusive list would be near impossible. By the time you get round them all, it would already be way out of date. I think it could only work by starting with a basic list of the bars already mentioned here to which other bars are added from time to time on posters recommendations. As I said, I'd be happy to do some research from previous posts, but have no idea how to get that onto a computer in poll format. Quote

Outdoor bar, host bar, beach bar. Since what we are basically analyzing in selecting our favorite bar, is what tickles our fancy. Quote

Personally, with something like this I think it is better for people to simply post about their favorite bars and, if they wish, include their reasons why those are the favorites. The problem with a poll is that you have to select just one bar when there may be more than one that you particularly enjoy. Without listing every one of the bars, then it becomes even more subjective. Listing the "most popular" bars may not even include the favorites of many people here. Also, where is it written that everyone even likes going to the bars at all? Some people think the only way to entertain one's self at night is the bar scene. Some people don't care much for any of the bars and prefer to find their boys through other means. I'd be willing to bet that the bars I like most wouldn't even be on the list. However, as I said, if anyone wants to create a poll, feel free . . . Quote
