Londoner Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Thanks for the photos. To be honest, that particular soi didn't look particularly appetising even in the Good Old Days....but at least the massage joints usually had a few cute guys hanging around! tm_nyc 1 Quote
a-447 Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 Golden Cock and Nature Boy have amalgamated. No surprise there, as they were always close and the guys visited each other's bar from time to time. The owner of Nature Boy often had parties in the old Golden Cock. Lots of fun times and great memories. Will7272 1 Quote

The Golden Cock sign has moved across the road to the Nature Boys premises, whilst the old Golden Cock premises is closed. That's been the case for some time, as can be seen from photos posted in January. Quote

Lots of fun times and great memories. Golden Cock the first gay bar I visited in Thailand decades ago. Nature Boy when I was feeling naughty. I haven't been back since the amalgamation but it is stretching my imagination to see two bars occupying the N.B. premises (seemed like half a shophouse😁). Good luck to them both. sydneyboy1, vinapu and fedssocr 2 1 Quote
billyhouston Posted December 9, 2021 Author Posted December 9, 2021 It is, perhaps, worth commenting that a few minutes prior to these photographs Thaniya was very quiet indeed and Surawong utterly deserted. Subsequently, Silom was very quiet also. My usual hotel was at about 20% capacity and their restaurant closed because they couldn't get staff. A sad state of affairs. vinapu Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 While pictures don't like and soi looks exactly like that it, s not a dead zone. Silom Market operates as before and is quite crowded so you would not notice any difference. Tawan soi is not that quiet either as new Quarter Silom hotel seems to be very popular. I showed at 11.00 on Monday and they made me waiting till 2 to check in. Parking was full and so was restaurant at breakfast ( buffet, 129 baht). As for Tawan itself as I reported in other thread they will be moving across the soi as confirmed by Mamasan from other bar as, well as well known Tawan boy I met in other place. So hope it turns true. Ryanqqq, 10tazione, tm_nyc and 1 other 3 1 Quote

TMax Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 It would be interesting to see how the rest of that soi has faired? I know the bar / restaurant After Hours (Silom rd end) closed down but would be nice to know how all the others (The Prime massage, Mango Tree etc) there are going (or gone). Quote
Guest Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 There are several massage shops open on the end of that Soi nearest the Skytrain. The Tawan end is much quieter, with closure of the bar, massage shops and the pharmacy. The Prime and Thai Prime were probably open. Certainly not boarded up, but since having boys sat outside is less common these days, it's difficult to tell without going inside. Quote

Mango Tree was open but appeared to have few customers. The massage places had few guys outside and did not appear to be doing great business. TMax and fedssocr 2 Quote

Popular Post a-447 Posted December 11, 2021 Popular Post Posted December 11, 2021 In my early days of visiting Bangkok I used to hang out in Soi Twilight and offed guys from various bars in the soi. I also patronised the massage places there, too, from time to time. But then one afternoon I ventured into Soi Tarntawan and discovered a bar that was open - Golden Cock. I met a lovely guy there and he became my regular sex friend for my afternoon session. We've been friends ever since and he takes care of me every day I'm in Bangkok. In the evenings I would go to a show in Soi Twilight and then head back to Soi Tarntawan and meet up with all the guys at Golden Cock for drinks (and sometimes a blow job) then go to meet another lovely guy in Natureboy. He would pull up a stool, pull out his enormous Isaan cock and put his hand up my shorts. After an hour out so of mutual cock play we would retire to my hotel for a full-on session. In the early days I was top only, as was he, but we had great sex. After a few encounters we got to know each other and he moved into rimming and swallowing, which was a very pleasant surprise indeed! Unfortunately, years later he became the bar manager and was no longer available. I think he might had found a farang boyfriend who didn't want him to go with clients anymore. Luckily for me I quickly found a new guy at Natureboys. His name is Mai. He was also a really nice, friendly guy and had a beautiful smile. And a huge, fat cock. So the same fun continued in the bar and in my room; it was just with a different guy. I think the first guy broke up with his boyfriend because although he was still the manager, he became availabe to off once again when Mai wasn't working.. And this time he was the one who was surprised because in the meantime I had learnt how to bottom and he was more than happy to give me a good pounding. So was Mai, but his size was a problem for me and it took a while for me to agree to bottom for him. When I finally got up the courage, it was awesome! He took it slowly and once he managed to get it all in, he was very gentle with me. What a pro! So I was fortunate enough to have 3 regulars to take care of me in Bangkok, and all were from Soi Tarntawan. For a time I also had a guy who would bottom for me - he worked at Super A. He is a close friend of my regular boy at Golden Cock. Last time I heard, he had returned to his village, married and had a couple of kids. He was straight (as are all of my regulars) but realised he was sitting on a gold mine so decided to become a bottom. It was a role he played to perfection and I think he actually enjoyed it. So the demise of Soi Twilight wasn't a big thing for me. But I'm really looking forward to getting back to my friends in Soi Tarntawan. I'll be first taking them out to a nice dinner, followed by a shopping spree and then ending up in my hotel room. I can hardly wait!!! Ryanqqq, Aux1010, Will7272 and 12 others 14 1 Quote
pong2 Posted December 12, 2021 Posted December 12, 2021 Many thanks for this info-sad to see but inevitable. So that will be location nr 3 for the SUN=Tawan! There also used to be 3 such bars along that short connecting soi-for me also first places long, long ago to visit BKK. SuperA and its sister/brother LuckyS-much later they merged and that Japanese run very neat place at the end (Lucky S was right beside and upstairs). Before MangoTree opened there was also such a place opposite-same side as Golden Cock- it changed names quite often, once it was I think King Diamond. Met one of the loveliest guys there-a Cambodian, long before the Khmer started to flock the Thai places Quote
