reader Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 From Richard Barrow Twitter site Immigration has just extended the deadline to apply for the special covid stamp based on being unable to travel. It now expires on 25th January 2022. However, there is a new clause that says officials must be stricter in order to make sure foreigners are not abusing the system. Quote
Guest Posted November 30, 2021 Posted November 30, 2021 I wonder how the "stricter" clause will be interpreted ? They were granting COVID extensions to people who would have been able to return home with almost no problems. Will they carry on as before, or will it be just for countries that are genuinely closed ? In practice, a "please stay longer as we are not getting many tourists" extension would make a lot of sense.
