PattayaMale Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 My Thai friend left last night to go to his village because his father had not been able to sleep for 10 days due to a severe pain on the right side of his back, a numb right arm, and 10 days of constipation. I suggested he could just send some money so he could go to the local hospital. He told me his father wanted to go to Surin and have it taken care of by someone that cures by black magic. I am skeptical. He is not. He returns later tonight and I will let you know what happened when he returns. My question for now is, do you or you Thai friend believe in black magic? Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 My question for now is, do you or you Thai friend believe in black magic? A great many Thais believe in ghosts and, for some reason, consider them to be malevolent. Not nearly as many believe in black magic, which is done by a 'mohr doo.' Personally, I believe in green magic . . . Quote
Guest shebavon Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 My question for now is, do you or you Thai friend believe in black magic? I do believe in the power of both intent and placebo, i.e. belief. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I don't believe in black magic, but I do believe in mind over matter, or some such idea. If a person believes they should get better because of a treatment, they will get better -- or perhaps they weren't really sick in the first place. A postive attitude to life, etc. can mean the difference in getting well or not. Quote
PattayaMale Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 My Thai friend is back in Pattaya now and this is what he told me. Yesterday he took his father to Surin to see the Black Magic Thai fellow. They had to take an egg with them because after the process of getting rid of bad spirit a egg was rubbed over the arm of his father and then opened to see if everything is ok. If a black hair or spot is in the egg then there is a serious problem. Luckily the egg showed that all was ok. The man mixed some herbs and gave to him and off my friend and his father went back to Korat. That night the father slept fine. This morning he got up and went to work at his farm which he could not do for the last 10 days. This had been a worry because water has to be pumped each day for the rice. They have put one of the mixed herbs at the spirit house to rid it of a bad spirit that might have tried to occupy it. His father also took a different herb mixture last night. As some have said, maybe it is mind over matter. But my Thai friend believes that for those that have no doubts about it, it works. If you don't believe in it, it won't work. Quote
Guest gay_grampa Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 ... and 10 days of constipation.... But has he 'Been' yet??? Quote
Guest laurence Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Now I am worried. One of the Thai "friends" said he would do black magic if I did not send him some money. I thought he was joking, but now not so sure. Quote

Guest laurence Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Look at the bright side. At least he doesn't have a Voodoo doll . . . or does he? Oh no! He actually used the word voodoo when speaking of black magic. He did ask for a lock of my hair, but luckily I had none to spare. Quote
KhorTose Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 It does not have to be hair from your head. Of course if you believe this I want you to know that he gave the hair to me and I made a voodoo doll out of it. I can give you this doll--undamaged--for $5000 USD. Please PM me and I will give you an account to send the money to. Do not wait. Just as a demonstration I impacted your eye. Feel the itch--blinking a lot---eye getting red----better hurry before it is too late. Quote
Nikom Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 "My question for now is, do you believe in black magic?" If you belive in some form of Christianity then you believe in black magic! Having lived in West Africa I can tell you that there are things that the Western world doesn't have a clue about! Why didn't you go with your boyfriend to take his father to see the doctor? Quote

Guest MonkeySee Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Oh no! He actually used the word voodoo when speaking of black magic. He did ask for a lock of my hair, but luckily I had none to spare. I did see a guy the other day sticking pins in the head of a doll. I thought how odd that a boy of that age was playing with a doll. How is your head Laurence? Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 That is exactly mind over matter....If you believe it, it will work!! I wish I could agree. I convinced myself and truly believed I would wake up this morning and be thin and handsome again. I'm not sure why, but somehow it didn't quite work . . . Maybe that's because I was never thin and never handsome in the first place. Quote

PattayaMale Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Why didn't you go with your boyfriend to take his father to see the doctor? I didn't go because the trip would be 4 hours to Korat and then 3 more to Surin and just return. Not my idea of a holiday My idea of a holiday is.........when the cat's away the mouse will play.
