Popular Post TotallyOz Posted April 20, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2021 In Lyon, an artist nicknamed Emem fills the pavement holes with mosaics. A man calls it the art of flacking - filling the sidewalks with small colorful ceramic tiles. In France it is called a ′′ pavement surgeon ", who heals the wounds of the city streets since 2016. This is truly a great way to make the world more beautiful. Latbear4blk, 10tazione, lookin and 5 others 8 Quote

Members RockHardNYC Posted April 21, 2021 Members Posted April 21, 2021 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't see mosiacs solving our infrastructure issues. It might put a few artisans at work, and perhaps reclaim a creative industry. But how practical and reliable? Sure, some mosiacs have lasted centuries, but the products used in ancient times are not the products permitted now. Plus, have you ever walked on wet ceramic? How about ceramic with a coating of snow? The lawyers would love it. Quote

You may enjoy Fran Lenowitz's discussion of the topic in the Netflix special "Pretend it's a city" Being a practical kind of guy, for outdoor use I recommend porcelain tiles with a matt or textured finish!
