PattayaMale Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I had a good friend tell me he was at Question Mark in Jomtien Saturday night. He said there was a drunk farang arguing with his BF. The argurment got heated and the Farang back handed the Thai BF. The Thai immediately pulled out a knife to slash the farang but one of the waiters caught the Thais arm before the knife hit the farangs throat. Both were asked to leave. Losing your temper and hitting a Thai does not make sense. It is very embarrassing and not a good idea. Quote
Guest shebavon Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Agreed. Not a good idea when we live in a nation of Kickboxers. And that's just the ladyboys. Quote
Guest laurence Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 You mean when the bf says "slap me, spank me, more-more, I like it", I may get carved up like a Christmas turkey? Quote
payless Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Are you sure this took place in ''?'' ? I was there from 8.30 pm Saturday until 1.50 am Sunday and was not aware of the incident. It was either a non-event or at another venue or I am just deaf and blind. Quote
Jason1988 Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Showing physical force to any Thai is not a good idea! I don't even think it is a good idea to raise your voice. You'll get nowhere. The best way to avoid any unpleasant situations is to walk away. You're in Thailand as a guest. For a few thousand baht you can be made to disappear. Rather unpleasantly I might add! Quote

This certainly applies to anywhere in the world. At least, I would hope that all agree that it is never acceptable to hit another person except in self defense. And causing a scene in public is equally unacceptable. Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 That said, trying to stab someone to death is a bit of an over reaction to a slap. Quote
Guest laurence Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 That said, trying to stab someone to death is a bit of an over reaction to a slap. Tell that to OJ Simpson. Sorry I am getting off topic with that remark! . At one time, the owner of Howards Hotel, Punja, told me never to get into a physical confrontation with a Thai. You will be the loser. Quote
Guest luvthai Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Slapping a thai ranks right up there with cheating him out of his tips. Word gets around and most time they and their friends will even the score. Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 never to get into a physical confrontation with a Thai. You will be the loser. Is that so? I can think of a few types of "physical confrontations" that can work out just fine . . . Quote
