Why is past marijuana use considered a disqualification?

I don't quiet get why anyone who disclosed they used marijuana in the past is an issue? Do they want people to lie? Why is this even an issue today? Biden's camp needs to move into 2021.

It's a real problem.  Forcing people to lie about their behavior makes them vulnerable and that's not something you want in the Whitehouse.  

Plus telling people it'd be ok, just tell the truth and then turning around and doing this... not good.  

Though on the other hand, I've had a couple pot head boys live with me and the kind of person who has to have pot every day isn't the kind of person I'd hire, especially for a critical role.  But occasionally or in the past, who gives a fuck?
