Why would stay somewhere where you have to register your boy when booking? You will be limiting yourself and better hope it works out with the person you registered.

What I have read on airbnb, you could have problems with this. What I did was rent a house instead of an apartment. There is no doorman and you have your privacy. There is a section on Airbnb where each listing clearly writes those rules.

Due the COVID-19 situation I don't know exactly when I will book a trip to Colombia I assume it will be next year.

 

I found interesting gay booking website which specify gay and guests friendly accommodation all over the world including Colombia all the hotels mentioned there allowed guests if they present ID and credit card and the apartments there are gay friendly or gay owned so I don't think I should have difficulties .

Another consideration is the price.  I contacted a guy on Twitter in Bogota 3 years ago, he quoted USD 150 per meeting in Bogota.  He is a 30 something gym toned average looking brown guy.  I did not follow up because I am not interested in paying American price when I travel to Colombia.  But I am sure some fellow Americans will pay.

I personally know someone who paid a gorgeous BelAmi type guy from Czech Republic to come meet him in the U.S., with all travel expense paid.

I started to think that I was the only one on the Latin board. The amount of boys that are looking for someone older is stunning, and unlike popular belief most are not money boys. No, not an an absolute 10, probably a 6 at most, and he is 35 y.o. (that's what he said, but people lie about their age all the time). That's why I didn't follow up.  I price him at $150 in the U.S., but I am not good at pricing and it's a very subjective thing, so I could be wrong.

$150 is way overpriced in a country where the average monthly salary is less than $400 .

You might be interested in a little experiment I just did.

I basically tried to recreate my own experience on Grindr in Medellin but with a gay twink account. The only difference was that I didn't initiate chats. But this wouldn't account to many views. I still clicked on all the profiles I liked and let the computer run for 24 hours.

Where got far into the 500 views, 25% messages and taps in 24 hours on my own account, this passive twink only got 136 views and 15% messages of which most were taps. That is a very big difference. Even though this isn't an exact science, it does prove to me that the "slim gay twinkies" are far less popular than in many European countries that I know of.

Yes you are right in my twenty years experience in Thailand ( never been in Colombia but planning a trip there when the Covid 19 madness will calm down) hunks and muscular twinks are much popular ,have more demand in the market and their services are more expensive but my taste is different I prefer the boyish slim younger look and they must be smooth and hairless and I don't care if they top or bottom. I already found 3 gorgeous boys that are willing to do long trip in Colombia and are very exited to visit different cities in the country I think it's a good idea to have someone local for first time trip to a new country I hope I am not wrong because sometimes long term may cause negative issues if there is no good chemistry with the boy.

So just for note -- as gay men we know that often opposites attract. Hairy bodies are unusual in Colombia  -- that becomes a fetish. Visit Dark Club in Bogota on a Friday and tell me I am wrong. I find there is also a strong "older man" fetish with many, but I would not state that as a "fact" within the country.   Point being that you can find interested parties -- but there is not a community demanding your presence. There will always be a core group of young men that want to fuck other men that look exactly like themselves. Colombia is a progressive country that is still finding it's identify. This is why I am so dedicated to their success. But let's not draw assumptions based on small data samples, please.
