Did I say I am insecure?

I will not make the decision until the last minute. The situation is changing almost as much as I am.

Not much. Fercho keeps up a WhatsApp List sharing pictures of the guys in offer at their location in the city, and the guys who would be hosting during the week end. I know they have an all inclusive price, but I think you have to pay the sex extra. This is a service that seems to target the local clientele, so the prices I have seen were always very affordable for someone from the US. With the pandemic, I have not seen advertising about the weekend in a while. If it is still happening, they are probably being extra discreet because of covid restrictions.

I spoofed my location on Grindr today and located myself in Medellin. In Mexico I was excited because of 250+ (forget the number) views in 24 hours. In Medellin I got over 560 views in a 24 Hour period. Totally crazy, concidering that I also got over 100 messages and some only tapped. 

One money-boy told me he would charge 100.000 COP for a session at my place. 

So yeah, there is def. something going on there.

Romeo is dead in Colombia. What I saw is Prepago, Disponible, not for free and some variants of that. Then you got the "Quiero Sugar" tribe. I haven't figured them out yet.

I don't know their names but they are/were on Calle 57a at Oriental. I thought there were 2 side-by-side on the south side and a big one on the north side by the gay sex hotel. Google maps. More quantity than quality is an understatement.

Bar Noches Alternades seems to be the nicer big one but it may still be closed for lockdown.

The only ugly guys in Medellin seem to all congregate at the 57a bars and the sauna there. Noches Alternades is a little of an exception. Otherwise people in Medellin are famously attractive and healthy.

What would be the place/area to get an apartment if we want to have most things in walking distance? I mean, near the places that are open 7 days a week, like a popular bar. It might not even exist but that's what we have in CDMX. The place we go to daily is a a few minutes walking from our apartment. I know you said something about making sure that we can recieve guests. That I will do! Boys also told me that it was easy to rent a room in a motel for some quick action. Sounds like something I know from the Philippines. The love hotels.

My investigation so far would indicate that in Medellin your goals are incompatible. Apparently, you cannot be at walking distance of the party area and at the same time staying in an apartment where you can celebrate promiscuity. 

The airbnbs in and close to El Poblado, which would be the are where the fun never ends, seem to be all enrolled in an anti sex tourism campaign. I was advised here to look for my temporary residence far from this area. 

Anyway, my research also indicates that El Poblado may be one of the fanciest and active hoods, but it is not the only one safe, walkable, and with plenty of places to have fun. The more I read @tassojunior's dislike for Calle 57, the more tempted I am to look for a place to stay in that area.

Poblado is very large. The antisex tourism campaign is primarily around Parque Lleras which is the party hub.  If you stay in Poblado but 15-20 min walk away from Lleras you shouldn’t have problems bringing guys back unless you are staying at a very very nice place.

I visited Medellin 3 years ago, stayed at an Airbnb apartment 10 minute walk to Lleras.  The area surrounding Lleras is lively on weekends, plenty of nice restaurants, bars and coffee shops.  But they are all straights.  If you walk alone on the streets, you will be approached by someone asking if you need a lady companion.   There was one gay bar on the second floor of a shop, but was quite empty.  I had no problem bringing guests to my apartment, but my guests were not locals.  One was a blonde white European exchange student, another guest was a white Canadian tourist.  YMMV. 

I don't speak any español.

Are you in Medellin or are you spoofing your location?

Are you using a profile picture?

Use your country's flag in your profile name.

I would just write what I am looking for in my profile in Spanish. Just translate it with google translate. However, if you prefere only English speaking boys, then write your profile in English.

I always chat with Google translate open. I'm cruising while I am learning to read and write in Spanish.

Also try different times to be online.

I booked all my tickets and apartments for my holiday. My business class ticket from Europe costs €1329. No, I don't expect the same product as Emirates, but I just need a flat bed seat. The fine print in the airbnb listings is important to read. Many of them don't allow guests of any kind. For now, I'm happy with my find. 

It's going to be a two month trip and will start in Medellin but only for a week. Then I,ll move on a few weeks. The reason is; a week should be enough for me to know if Medellin is for me or not. If I like it, i'll come back another month, if not, I'll come back a few days to take the plane back home from there. But honestly, if grindr is any indication, it might get pretty wild.

@Latbear4blk I know you were planning a trip before my traveling dates. Have you been able to decide?

When I was there almost 3 years ago it was drug addicts laying out on the street. Nothing seemed open or alive when I got to 57a during the daytime and I didn't get the urge to return at night. I'm intrigued by Gus Van Sant-style street hoods, but this was way beyond that. I hope you report back something different.

Yeah I'd like to hear back too because if all the cam site model locations are to believed, Medellin has a wealth of gorgeous fit guys.

Exactly.  You see those gorgeous models on cam sites, but in reality, unless you have made arrangements with those models, there is not a way for you to find them physically when you are already in Medellin.  They are not on Grindr (the ones on Grindr are not those good looking, toned, muscled types you see on cam sites).  And there is no GP saunas in Colombia like in Brazil.  The cam site models are certainly not going to be in the parks or on the streets looking for customers.

While we are on the subject of cam site models, my speculation is that, they are happy to expose their beautiful bodies online for some tips, but that doesn't mean they are looking to have sex with older, unattractive men/women for a Colombia price or any price.  So, you may have a lot of fantasy while watching them, but your fantasy is just a fantasy.
