BiBottomBoy Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 well that's brave. but here they just do a direct debit off your bank account that starts at 288 euros and goes up to 15k euros which is actually a worse punishment than prison Quote
ggobkk Posted March 10, 2021 Posted March 10, 2021 I live in a university town close to San Francisco. My town has one of the few bath houses - it and the university closed one year ago this week. Very little activity that isn't from an app. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted March 10, 2021 Author Posted March 10, 2021 yeah that's why they shut the apps down here. Quote

Guest Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 I live in Ft Lauderdale for the winter - EVERYTHING is open...even sex club 321 Slammer which is my favorite. I haven’t been since March 2020 (before shutdown), but will go after April 1. I’m fully vaccinated and aware of risks. Will minimize where possible. Given the gear typical there, a mask won’t be a problem. I’ll post report after Quote

Members Riobard Posted March 16, 2021 Members Posted March 16, 2021 Am I allowed to say yet that I have never considered Fauci a ‘national treasure’ for the USA wrt the novel coronavirus pandemic? In early February 2020 I trekked to Canadian Tire hardware++ store in Montreal and bought out their small supply of N95 masks. I also had an unused supply of surgical face coverings from having worked through the 2003 SARS outbreak in a northern hotspot, though we were gowned, gloved, and fitted for snug N95 masks for months. I had worn the surgical masks outside as they are more comfortable. An American pharmaceutical company sheepishly yet rightfully asked me not to attend a meeting in California on a research project in which I was a co-investigator. At least they acted without excessive worry about erring. Perhaps these factors and experiences prompted me to be very planful and decisive this pandemic around. It’s not that I claim to be smarter or more insightful. It was a healthy respect for microbes garnered from the reality of health care colleagues in my downtown core succumbing to that earlier CoV disease. I wasn’t even on top of the local news, following retirement having paid less attention to media, or aware that Canadian public health officials had also been downplaying the threat. I live near Chinatown and was more cognizant of my neighbours early on cleaning out sanitizer supplies from the pharmacies we share use of. They got and grasped ‘the memo’ right away yet unfortunately often nevertheless scapegoated. I packed the hazard gear for a trip to Brazil planned prior to the WHO announcements throughout January, flying the last day of February 2020 wearing a mask on the flight. There was scattered face covering at P.E. Trudeau Airport. Relaxed the measures for the few weeks during my visit as the index cases in Brazil had not yet been reported. Then was ordered home 16 days later and quarantined. I’m sure I’m not alone, but if everyone had done what I was willing to do from last mid-March forward ... Quote
TMax Posted March 16, 2021 Posted March 16, 2021 What's gay life like where I am? Dead, living in a country town in Western Australia and being attracted mostly to Asian guys means I miss out badly. No gay saunas, no gay bars, no gay escorts and virtually no gay activity at all. The only upside is good internet and lots of porn, tsk tsk. The apps are still online but very little of interest for me in my region and even for a Thai massage by a Thai guy (with the only extra a happy ending) is a good 1.5 hours drive each way. Oh course this means that if I ever get to travel back to Bangkok I will be letting loose and having one hell of a mighty time. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted March 16, 2021 Author Posted March 16, 2021 Damn if I was you Western Austrailia is the last place I'd want to live. It sounds horrible! Quote

floridarob Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 I live in Mexico, another place that is bad off because of an unprepared "Populist" president that still refuses to wear a mask (he recently had Covid) and blames his lack of planning on the USA hogging the vaccines. He basically has no plan....every state for themselves , Sound familiar? But sex is never a problem when Latinos are involved, there have been curfews and restrictions but life and sex continue....for most. Riobard and TMax 2 Quote
spoon Posted March 17, 2021 Posted March 17, 2021 Gay life in malaysia goes on as usual. Since they are illegal anyway, u can still get massage, go to sauna, and covid restriction only happens outside the premises. So if i cant cross district previously, only those within the district can go to those places. Now, it has relaxed a bit. Almost all businesses can open including cinema, massage, gym etc. except night club and bars, which is only allowed to operate as restaurant. Legal Massage sop is strict, masseur will wear face shield, mask, and gloves and temperature check with apps check in made compulsory. The gay massage being illegal doesnt really follow any of this, but now only accept appointment, with no walk in. Some gay sauna limit the amount of people at a time with people wearing masks except when having fun. We cant travel freely yet, no interstate crossing allowed, but tour group tourism allowed on low risk states. One of my regular masseur did stop working due to covid. As far as i can tell, he hasnt working since december last year. He can afford to do this though, as i believe he has a local BF/daddy supporting him. TMax 1 Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted March 17, 2021 Author Posted March 17, 2021 aren't you worried about ever getting busted by the cops in malaysia? I've heard they can be brutal. Quote

It happened less than youd think. And mostly when it does, based on reports of those who were there, its mostly to arrest illegal immigrants or those who abuse their social pass to work. And this raids happened in both gay and straight places. The customers rarely gets charged. Now there are also raids with religious officers, but they can only charge muslims, and the sharia law here are only regarding those not covered by the civil law, and punishment were limited too. Yes it happens but not a hindrance for most of us here and its no where near brutal. The reality here, eventhough the soceity and gov dont want to face reality, if u go to any shopping malls, u can clearly see gays, trans, working in the many shops selling cosmetics and womens shoes/handbag. Go to the gym in the city, u can see gays working out, go to certain toilets in bus station or malls, u can see gays cruising. Ive been lucky enough to never face any raids myself, even though i used to regularly goes to the massage centers. But gay sauna and massage centers here are not so easy to find. It is often in shoplots upper stairs and no signs outside, locked door with cctv to see if u are customer or not. Lol floridarob and ggobkk 2 Quote

Docbr01 Posted March 20, 2021 Posted March 20, 2021 Wow, I’m totally shocked to hear that Tinder / Grindr app where (or still are) closed in France. I understand the rationale of avoiding meetings but I think it trespass too much civil liberties. I mean, come on, with everything closed one have the right to at least virtually meet and talk people. Dating in person or the serial dating that many guys indulge is other matter, but until “mandatory stay at home / domiciliary prison orders” are at place, people must have the choice. On the other hand , I’m living in São Paulo right now ... and after one year almost locked on home I could visit Lagoa two weeks ago (15 days after my second vaccine shot), but now cases are soaring again and the saunas in SP (and all other bars) are closed again. BiBottomBoy Posted March 20, 2021 Author Posted March 20, 2021 well they know we'd just go over to each other's places and have sex and spread covid. they don't have the same ideas about civil liberties here Quote
Members Pete1111 Posted March 20, 2021 Members Posted March 20, 2021 My gay friends meet me on Zoom. I miss joining with them for social events, coffee, dinner, etc. So much time gone by. Gay life in LA is like everything else. One relies on streaming events. I follow an improv group and a comedy troupe that have produced some nice shows on line. When I think about the time lost, I grieve a little. Everyone looks forward to opening back up. Quote

BiBottomBoy Posted March 20, 2021 Author Posted March 20, 2021 that's lucky! that said if they did exist here I'd be wary of anyone using them just on the basis that they might give me covid Quote
spoon Posted March 21, 2021 Posted March 21, 2021 Cases here have been reducing now. Around 1k cases a day and we have 30mil population. Highest was around 5k a day, when we were already back to nationwide lockdown, except for essential sectors, and limit of 10km raidus for getting necessities. We were relatively covid free before the state election in december last year, poor handling of this events resulted in current high cases. Quote
BiBottomBoy Posted March 21, 2021 Author Posted March 21, 2021 We have a 1.17 R rate so I don't think our numbers are going down anytime soon. Quote

At this point, I think the phased order of renewal this late Summer and Fall will be Montreal’s Stock and Campus; Barcelona’s Thermas and Zürich’s Paragonya; and lastly Brazil because I think COVID will be a shit show there much longer. I didn't know about Montreal, but the other locales were on my "Final World Sex Tour 2020" list, which I guess will now be 2021-22. Istanbul and maybe Colombia added to that. "Final" because, I had thought, it was time to, you know, "get serious" and do less whorin' around. But there's no time for puritanism after Covid, so I suspect it will be Roarin' 20s, like many predict. Quote
