Popular Post Patanawet Posted March 6, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 6, 2021 I visited soi 4 last night and what a pleasant surprise. Busy just like the old days. Every bar (except Welcome Bar) was open and busy. Jupiter open again. Banana open again Hugs open again. Strangers Bar open again. Balcony Pub had Aomam the lady singer. Pride had a singer guitarist. Stranger was packed into the soi like the old weekend nights. Balcony and Telephone terraces were full to capacity as was Connection. Let's hope that was a sign of things to come. The only downside was the thousands of tiny moths gathered around any bright lights. I'm told that this is a regular annual occurrence and usually is only one night -- then disappear the next night as if by magic. Let's see tonight. abidismaili Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 Expats or tourists ? I just can’t believe many working age tourists choose the two week quarantine option. It is a lost two weeks of your vacation hours Question: are you allowed during quarantaine to meet boys who visit you? So use Grindr and tell them to go to the hotel ? Or no visitors allowed at all? I guess the last of course but to be sure I ask it anyway. Quote
gerefan Posted March 6, 2021 Posted March 6, 2021 I did quarantine in BKK in December. Absolutely no visitors. You are in solitary for the full 15 days. Not even cleaners allowed in the room if you are in there. You have to go elsewhere while they clean. Riobard and Patanawet 2 Quote
Members Riobard Posted March 6, 2021 Members Posted March 6, 2021 No visitors. There are even restrictions on family members being in the same room unless it is parent/minor or married couple. For full quarantine there are likely appeal-based exemptions for couples not legally married. Apparently a non-spousal caregiver of a senior must be separated, but allowed an adjoining room. Quarantine, after all, is separation. Do astronauts get to fuck immediately upon re-entry? Your only hope for a rendezvous might be in the bushes at a resort-type hotel. Do you play golf? Are you or can you pretend to be a poor stroke so that you need to go into the foliage to retrieve golf balls? Watch out for the hornets; they do not honour Hornet tricks. But, on another note, I would think that being required to be medically cleared by your primary care practitioner within 72 hours of departure, apart from CoV specifics, would be a pain in the ass. You show a hard copy on arrival but you would have already survived the flight. Odd. I wonder if this requirement will be removed when vaxx certificates replace the current protocol. Popular Post anddy Posted March 7, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 7, 2021 I was in Soi 4 and then Soi 2 last night and confirm things were BUSY. Stranger bar packed as in "normal" times, with people spilling out into the Soi. Soi 2 was busy already after 11pm, and got packed around midnight. Also almost just like in "normal" times, minus the gazillions of (mostly Chinese, in recent years) tourists. That missing contingent of patrons meant that the upper floors of DJ Station were empty and everything just happened on ground floor level, where it was busy indeed. Patanawet Posted March 7, 2021 Author Posted March 7, 2021 Anddy, please tell us that the photo is not from last night -- dangerously crowded and not a mask in sight. TotallyOz 1 Quote

anddy Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 the photo is from last night. Yes, no masks and no distancing. TV-screens everywhere in the bars mandating social distancing and masks, but not being followed. No fun when having fun like this, right? Staff were wearing masks though. Of course I noticed and wondered, too, but then again with an almost nonexistent incidence in Thailand the real risk is probably really low too. vinapu and Patanawet 1 1 Quote
Londoner Posted March 7, 2021 Posted March 7, 2021 It only takes one carrier.....remember the boxing stadium outbreak last year? I am genuinely astonished and , while pleased that life is returning to gay area, fearful that with such behaviour restrictions will soon be back in place. And just when I was beginning to think about a summer visit. Quote

And just when I was beginning to think about a summer visit. Yes of course everything you said is correct. But I guess people have become, well, complacent about these things here. Yes the boxing stadium was a big story then. But such behavior as you see in the picture is not new, it has prevailed in Soi 2 for many many months before the most recent outbreak, and nothing happened. Then nightlife was closed again, now back open so people just go back to what they did before when there was no fallout. Patanawet 1 Quote

richincali Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Thank you @anddyfor the pic and report on Soi 2 activities! The personal sacrifice of your health and safety to keep us updated is well appreciated. It’s good to see continuing signs of life in Silom and gives us hope that we may be able to also enjoy it soon. Quote
