If he cannot get his mobile phone contacts straight when coordinating a misguided coup attempt with his sycophants cowering under their desks during a mob invasion how is he going to master our site rules. bucky13 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Twitter was Trump's penis. He now has no way of pleasuring himself. He's already deranged and will eventually go completely off the rails. Just a matter of time. Quote
jickingjibe Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 Trump is far to dangerous to be allowed on Twitter but he still has the nuclear codes. Go figure! gaothanear 1 Quote
amanchris Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 They have contacted the Pentagon to get the codes off him Quote
pazubane Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Between twitter's terminating his account and PGA stripped his golf course as a host; election has consequences. TotallyOz 1 Quote
Guttensin Posted January 14, 2021 Posted January 14, 2021 I'm glad Trump soon will be out, but I don't think twitter should have suspended his account. gaothanear and Pete1111 2 Quote
jubjubsmith Posted January 16, 2021 Posted January 16, 2021 Too little too late. But also agree that while the world will be happy to see the back of Trump, a permanent ban is a precarious measure. Quote
Members popejp3 Posted January 16, 2021 Members Posted January 16, 2021 This could very well land up with SCOTUS and be reversed. Even then this is a good thing for the time being. Quote

Members Jtmjxn Posted January 23, 2021 Members Posted January 23, 2021 I'm afraid this is the start of a very slippery slope Quote
Members Pete1111 Posted January 24, 2021 Members Posted January 24, 2021 The right to free speech relates to governments silencing our expression. Even then, there are limits to the information shared. One doesn't have freedom to yell "fire" in a crowded theater or to publish kiddie porn. All kinds of private sector entities are kicking Trump to the curb. I'd say it is Trump that is on a slippery slope. Latbear4blk 1 Quote

I am more in tune with the Europeans. It is a fundamental right that should be regulated, but not by the very companies that right now have a monopoly. The case of Trump & friends is special. Although the lack of a sound regulatory frame is an issue that needs urgent attention, we could not wait for it. The assholes were using their social media to incite violence and spread falsehoods, shutting their accounts down was an urgent need, although not the ideal decision. Quote
Members Pete1111 Posted January 24, 2021 Members Posted January 24, 2021 That Fazebuk is blamed for being complicit in inciting Genocide in Myanmar should have been a wake up call to social media how far from ideal we are. Quote
