Members Deadlift Posted December 9, 2020 Members Posted December 9, 2020 Comedy about the relationship between a closeted gay professor at NYU and his southern redneck family during the 1970s. Probably one of the best gay themed movie this year. TotallyOz 1 Quote

I was certainly happy to see Paul Bettany almost naked. And kissing a man. And a project by the talented Alan Ball always lifts an eyebrow. But having Frank as a closeted, recovering alcoholic who relapses, in the 70's, didn't quite thrill me. And over-plucked Wally sort of got on my nerves. However, I did enjoy the movie's concept, the niece/gay-uncle bonding. All acted by top-notch professionals. I agree, for a gay-themed film, this may be the best of the year. Quote
