Members DutchDork Posted September 26, 2020 Members Posted September 26, 2020 Will you consider traveling to Brazil between now and the end of November given the current situation? I am just curious where the rest of the group stands regarding resumption of travel to Brazil. Quote
floridarob Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I was there last month and am going back in a couple of weeks. I booked a ticket when I saw the new Fragata finally had an opening date. Namuzu is still there and I'm not sure he'll ever leave, lol TotallyOz 1 Quote
Guest Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 I've never been to Brazil. However, some of my preferred winter holiday destinations in Asia are not open at the moment. So if the covid numbers start to fall back in Brazil, I could envisage going there in the next few months. More likely December or January than November. Quote

I'm curious to know though, have you had Covid and thus have some sort of limited-term immunity? Or do you just assess that the virus can be easily avoided despite the behavior of the guys in the sauna? Quote

Not doing much different there than I am at home. Seats in the saunas are spread apart, handwashing and temp check when you enter, everyone using masks unless you're drinking/eating..... the risk is when you meet someone, and have intimate time with them....you have to assume/hope that they are negative also. Popular Post caeron Posted September 27, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 27, 2020 I'm not going anywhere until its safe, except local stuff that I can stay socially distanced the whole journey and at the destination. The guys, by definition, are getting very intimate with lots of people repeatedly. That doesn't strike me as someone I want to get close to. The reality of it would probably be a major boner killer for me. Perhaps I carry too many memories of the worst of the AIDS holocaust. Porn it is, for now. Members Bucknaway1614502762 Posted September 27, 2020 Members Posted September 27, 2020 I was supposed to be there last April so I am going to try again for April 2021,. I'm coming with a friend that wants me to show him the guys and that saunas. Quote
Members tassojunior Posted September 27, 2020 Members Posted September 27, 2020 Not until there'a a vaccine or I know I have immunity otherwise. I'm not headed anywhere the hospitals and medical care are worse than here until then. Much of western Europe or Canada maybe when travel starts. Until then Florida's wide open and fine for sex in the sun. axiom2001, caeron and TotallyOz 3 Quote
Members DutchDork Posted September 27, 2020 Author Members Posted September 27, 2020 Thanks for all your responses. My friends and I are really itching to travel but are also very much afraid of Covid-19. Afraid to get it and also afraid of being carriers of it. There's a real struggle between being responsible adults and being hungry for those Brazilian boys. Reading your perspectives helps in the decision-making process. Keep them coming! Quote

Also, from the comments, I would not assume the guys are even there in the saunas. They seem fairly empty. Being a sauna boy entails having intimacy with many different people and is almost a certain infection if susceptible to infection. Having covid in Brazil is much more deadly, even if just for friends and relatives of the young, than in the US. As poor as many of these guys are, it seems most are curtailing dangerous activity like saunas as much as possible. caeron, axiom2001 and TotallyOz 3 Quote

Members Connery43 Posted September 29, 2020 Members Posted September 29, 2020 I have reservations for Medellin in late February and then SP and Rio in early March 2021. I can only hope things are "normal" by then. It very well may not be. Quote
Members DutchDork Posted October 13, 2020 Author Members Posted October 13, 2020 Looks like some positive news came out from Brazil these past couple of days. Only 3,189 cases were reported two days ago and only 8,429 were reported yesterday. That's way below their peak of 69,074 single day new cases reported on July 29. Quote

Today is October 12, 2020, and I've just come to this thread and its responses. Would you be much more comfortable traveling to Brazil in 2021 or 2022? I ask because your prior experiences in the saunas as well as your other travel-related adventures will be different in the COVID-19 and afterwards era, beginning at the airports. As I have been hearing and, at times, saying: STAY SAFE! Quote
Members bt212 Posted October 15, 2020 Members Posted October 15, 2020 The overall new infection rate in Brazil (9.7 cases per day/100K population and falling) is now lower than in the USA (15.3 cases per day/100K and rising). But access to advanced health care if needed is still an issue in Brazil, even with the best health insurance. tassojunior 1 Quote
Members Popular Post yellowheart Posted October 15, 2020 Members Popular Post Posted October 15, 2020 Hello.. I was recently in Rio for a short stay... Everyone wears masks for the most part. It's mandatory to get onto the Metro. Inside dining with masks. Went to 117 and it was a mixed bag. Most didn't wear but had it handy. Depending on your tastes; it could either be really good or just OK. I saw a one or two guys from the forum. It's still really slow with regards to Clients and Garotos. Weather was crap. Things are returning back to a "new normal" but it'll take some time and some adventurous hoes to make the leap forward. I didn't go to Lions. I did go to Pointe but they were doing a private party. No new faces but the regulars abound. Insurance is no longer a requirement. If you are worried; I would recommend staying at home as worrying about getting sick would put a damper on festivities. No direct flight from where I was at. I had to connect from Sao Paulo to Rio and Rio to Sau Paulo. Both flights were packed. Everyone wears a mask on the plane. Getting from the US to Sao Paulo. Flights were empty. Exchange I got of casa de cambio was 5.6. Selection was limited but was always able to get at least 2 programmas in during each visit. 150 seems to be the going rate and I don't quibble as it's not much but I do remember one guy asking for 120. Daily rates can vary but I pay 300 to 500 per day. It really depends upon your relationship with the person. I think minimum wage is about 1200 reais/month before taxes. Hope the information helps. tassojunior, Badboy81, dallastexas and 3 others 4 2 Quote

Hey Tasso..I agree.. the guys are not in abundance but empty would not be the way I would describe what I saw. Not sure if it was because it was October (low season) or the Pandemic. 117 just barely opened and I think word is starting to trickle out. The type of guys I like were a little lacking but I like I said above; I was always able to find what was needed. I was there Fri/Sat/Sun... Friday was a good mix... Saturday had more clients than guys (maybe better at point).. Sunday was not bad for a Sunday.. 117 is also doing 50% off the cabine for Friday/Sat and not Sunday !!! The staff all wear masks.....things are coming up to speed with a new norm but it'll take some time. tassojunior 1 Quote

All the strip clubs are open and plenty of guys in them and online for dates. If Europe opens I'll travel there as the healthcare is better. (And there's no shortage of Brazilians in either). Quote

Im spoiled by the prices I pay in SD and RIO. after paying bargain basement prices in those countries, I can't imagine paying $250-$300 for an American hook up. After you apportion the airfare by the number of guys you date and add the cost of the cubicle at the sauna for each, much less the value of the 2 days in transit and foreign health insurance, those Brazilians aren't so cheap. (and if you have a fetish for Brazilians, thanks to the diaspora there's no shortage of them anywhere you live or go). I can fly from DC to Ft Lauderdale or St Pete in 1 1/2 hours for often under $100 roundtrip and have my pick of private-curtained encounters for fairly low cost or the best online ads for over an hour for $200 or less (competition in Florida is fierce). Plus, if we click I can keep in touch, invite them to visit, or travel with them. 1 hour ago, floridarob said: much of the same risk where you live, unless you've locked yourself in and don't go anywhere. Maybe same risk of contagion but the mortality risk skyrockets once you have to depend on the Rio healthcare system. Quote
