TotallyOz Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 I am really enjoying The Kominsky Method on Netflix. Quote

It is gorgeous, ponderous (many say slow), and interesting. But I wouldn't say I'm better or happier for having watched it. A pretentious big snooze for me. Quote
Members canario299 Posted January 8, 2021 Members Posted January 8, 2021 The Serpent - bbc / netflix. Interesting series on Charles sobhraj and a vivid reconstruction of Bangkok in the 70s. Very dark but worth a watch (although it could do without the timeline jumping all over the place) Quote
Members canario299 Posted January 8, 2021 Members Posted January 8, 2021 Your name engraved herein on Netflix. Taiwanese gay film, set in the 80s. This was a big hit in Taiwan and across Asia. Good acting and storyline but the 2nd half lags a bit. Quote
amanchris Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Have been binge watching the new tar Trek on Netflix.......its really good TotallyOz 1 Quote

If you are into science fiction, and Ridley Scott, you are probably biting your fingers as I am. I cannot wait. If you like sci-fi, I would also suggest Travelers on netflix. It got cancelled after 3 seasons but the end of Season 3 acts well as a finale. It also stars Will (too lazy to google his real name) from Will and Grace. Quote
Members JKane Posted January 22, 2021 Author Members Posted January 22, 2021 I finally caught up on Expanse. Parts are great but some parts uneven, like the writing and editing don't hold up to the story and acting sometimes. Still, I'm enjoying it a lot. W312312 1 Quote

Enjoyed it, most say S2 was better than S1 but it seemed a touch more boring for me. Really missed Cha Cha and Hazel. I really liked it too and I think Season 2 was definitely better overall. Quote
Members Jtmjxn Posted January 23, 2021 Members Posted January 23, 2021 I really enjoyed the crown and hillbilly elegy on netflix Quote
Axel23 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Just Friends is a Dutch film, here is the trailer: The main actor is gorgeous... Quote

Anzabor31 Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 Recommend “Ted Lasso” on Apple Plus....especially the locker room scenes with the sweaty hairy chested football captain! W312312 1 Quote

As a fellow Robin Williams fan have you seen his last picture Boulevard 2014. His character has an empty closeted life and emotional relationship with a male hustler...he was excellent...but some critics found his performance lacking. It's a small low budget movie and a gem in my book. tassojunior 1 Quote
flguywest Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 For those who enjoy Detective series I just finished "Wisting", a Norwegian series and it was very good. Wallander with Kenneth Branagh was also very good but his character brings an awful lot of baggage to his role. Quote

This was such a good show. It’s funny but has some great poignant moments. I hope they find a way to make a second season. Quote

Members JKane Posted September 25, 2021 Author Members Posted September 25, 2021 Read and liked the books but don't remember specifics. Amazing VFX, probably the best "television" VFX of the year... Some cool story ideas, I enjoyed, some don't. I'll watch more. I refuse to pay for AppleStreaming though so I torrent it. Quote
Members JKane Posted September 25, 2021 Author Members Posted September 25, 2021 The best thing to come out of the Start Trek universe in over 10 years. Some actual Star Trek in there plus some great humor and so many easter eggs. Quote
Members Pete1111 Posted October 22, 2021 Members Posted October 22, 2021 Operation Hyacinth , a crime thriller on Netflix. There are plot twists and more. A very good movie out of Poland. Don't watch the trailers. They all stink IMO, and also spoil too much. It is not a "gay movie" per se, but there is gay subject matter. Quote
Members Pete1111 Posted November 26, 2021 Members Posted November 26, 2021 Watched Jimmy O. Yang on Prime last night, his stand up show Good Deal. Funny. Vanity Fair has a recent piece on him. "It's Time to Fall in Love With Jimmy O. Yang". JKane 1 Quote
Members JKane Posted November 28, 2021 Author Members Posted November 28, 2021 I was VERY DISSAPOINTED by Foundation. First episode was interesting and then NOTHING HAPPENS through the end of the season even the finale episode! https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/09/24/foundation-is-beautiful-lavish-and-boring-say-reviews Can't believe it already has a second season green-lit. I wonder if anything's going to change now that everybody's fallen asleep through the rest of the season... Quote
Members JKane Posted November 28, 2021 Author Members Posted November 28, 2021 Wheel of Time, on the other hand, I'm really starting to like. At first I was worried because the first episode was good and the next two weren't that exciting, thought it would be like Foundation, but then the 4th episode hit it out of the park and I am eager for more! bobtpa1614502761 and TotallyOz 2 Quote
