Last December I split up my December two weeks Christmas break between Rio and Sao Paulo. Had such a wonderful time, I returned to Brazil twice in 2019 before this  current Christmas break.

One tip for boat tours:

Dec 24, Angra Dos Reis, wonderful, bus only 1/4 full. Can swim off boat directly. Good drinks. A lot of English speakers. English guide. Highly recommended. 

Dec 29, Arrial do Cabo, shouldn't have booked. Super crowded, bus/boats at full capacity. Long drive (traffic), long walk to boat pier under hot sun, long wait to pay a fee in line, few English speakers, no English guide on boat, to swim you have to put on life vest and get in life boat to go to the beach, then get back to boat the same way. Except the last stop where you can jump right off the boat. I honestly wished I didn't book this. Left hotel at 7:45, guest pickup finished at 9. Won't be back until 10:30 at night.

Monday, December 30. Last Monday before New year's. Arrived 5:30.

This is the most at/over capacity as I have seen in 202! Wonder where Alessandria went? She was a calm anchor for the place. The boy and the old guy manning the front desk seem overwhelmed at times. And neither of them has a good command of English.

Junior had to help out at times as lines form at the check-in.
