Members Anthonyvan
I find that it's cheaper to fly to Sao Paulo and take one of the domestic flights to Rio (like less than $50 roundtrip). Maybe I am mistaken, but it seems it's much more expensive to fly to Rio.
Members AaronInDallas
It’s surprising because Sao Paolo is more of a business destination and thus you expect it to be pricier, but my own experience found that not to be the case. You are correct in that flights within Brazil are super cheap (and it’s the best way to see such a large country when you have limited time). A few years back I got a r/t from the US to Sao Paolo for $350 which was just nuts! At the time I had to hassle with a visa and I honestly think that kept some US travelers away, but now that restriction is gone so to need to go check it out! brockmiller and Lucky
Members Uqtyang
São Paulo is definitely cheaper and has more flights in and out. It’s one of the biggest hubs in the continent with almost every airlines flying in direct. Rio in comparison is a much smaller airport with less traffic. There is no business class between Santiago de Chile and rio. It is not really that good given the 4h transcontinental flight time.
