Uber is awesome in Brazil. After a few days of using the app. I started texting the driver using Google translate in explaining to them what I was wearing and if I had luggage. My vision is bad so I cannot see their tag numbers from a distance. But that was not much of an issue at all.

One of the many consequences of a thin bank account is not so good flying. To save money, I purchased a two stops ticket. Of course in Economy Class. I left DC Saturday noon to fly first to Miami, then to Manaus, and finally arrived in Rio on Sunday morning. The first two flights were in American Airlines, standard quality and no news to report. The flight from Manaus to Rio was through Latam.
