Members Riobard Posted August 14, 2019 Members Posted August 14, 2019 (edited) I have researched and updated current short-stay places. The closest to Lion's but in Lapa area is Hotel La Costa, 850 metres distance at 13 Francisco Muratori. There are others further northwest into Centro but the closest of all remains southerly, Hotel Alameda (A) directly across from Clube 117, 550 metres from Lion's, and the cheapest. The other two options remain Hotel/Suites Challon (C) a modestly steep uphill climb 350 metres west from #117 to #521, and Hotel Lovetime (L) 200 metres south of Metro Gloria, also a litle closer to Lion's than La Costa in Lapa. forrestreid Posted August 14, 2019 Posted August 14, 2019 Thanks for the info Riobard, but somewhat off-topic, where did you get those maps? The rather dramatic way it shows altitude is unusual, but obviously handy in example such as this, talking about Rio. I would be interested to see some other cities (such a Lisbon) in a map of that style. Quote

forrestreid Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Thanks. Really interesting was to look at some cities, like Hong Kong or Lisbon Riobard 1 Quote
Members Riobard Posted August 15, 2019 Author Members Posted August 15, 2019 If you visit Lisbon and read gay-themed fiction by prominent authors, try David Leavitt's latest novel set in 1940, The Two Hotel Francforts. I really enjoyed staying halfway up the Bica Elevador tram a few years ago. Quote
