First-timer in Rio - please help

Hi, guys. Please, help. I've read amazing posts of Guest tomcal, but they are 10 years old.

I'm going to Rio in August for the first time. I rent an appartment next to Club 117.

What are going rates for bodybuilders in the club now? Does the rate depend on body type?

Do I pay for the time spent or for a sex act? If it is for the time, how long?

 

And how much is for taking a boy overnight?

How much for a long stay? 24-hours, a week or more? What the daily rate is, how do you estimate?

I'm experienced traveller to Bangkok (50+ times), where I always take a man for a 2 week stay together, 24 hours. We live, eat, sleep, have fun together and so on...

Is it possible to do same in Rio after choosing a right guy?

Any advice?

No, that thread was started ten years ago.  If you read the thread, you will see that is has many current comments from various forum members who visit Rio. 

Also, you should read the "Latin" section of the forum to see additional comments that are current.  

All of your questions are answered in the various posts concerning Brazil. 

You might have to look for the answer about whether the guys speak English.  The answer is "generally not" 

Although it seems difficult to believe, your not knowing Portuguese and the guys not speaking English there is little or no problems for purposes of meeting someone compatible.  

As to finding someone for a long-term basis, it could be difficult.  Many of the guys are married or are in long-term relationships.  They work in the saunas solely to earn money.  When their work day is finished, they go home.  

Of course, it is possible you will find someone who will spend more time with you.

I've been only for three days in Rio. So far these are the fees I am dealing with, all prices are in Brazilian currency:

Boy in sauna: 150/200, negotiable rate according to what you want to do. Personally, I do not like sex in the sauna, but it is the safer option to go to.

Escort publishing in Internet: 150/200. I got two  local porn stars for 200 the hour in my place. (I am only inviting these guys to my place because I got recommendations from a third party)

Spending the day together (I am not into overnights): Apparently the standard time is something like 10AM to 5PM. I was quoted 150, ended paying 250 because the guy was just amazing. He was also recommended by a third party.

I do not know whether or not these are representative prices, but they are the prices I have dealt with so far.

You seem to not want to read.

Latbear4blk has not previously been to Rio.  He has been there only a few days on his current visit to Rio.  

The prices he quote to you are based on HIS few days of experience in Rio.  

The guys in sauna Clube 117 ask various prices ranging from R$100 all the way to R$300 or more.  

Some guys will ask a higher price but when a customer does not accept, will counter with a lower price.  

Depending on your personality, you might find a guy from the sauna to spend time with you during the day.  The price for the guys time would depend partly on what you plan to do while you are together. 

As to the guys speaking English, I answered that for you in my response to you.  

I have visited Brazil for nearly 16 years, multiple times each year.  I am quite knowledgeable about the saunas, the pricing and of how to treat the guys found in the saunas.  

Again, I suggest that you read the "Latin" section of the forum to see additional comments that are current.  That information should be helpful.  

Attitude makes a big different on whether you will enjoy your time in Brazil.  

Your having extensive experience with guys in Thailand will not be much of a guide to you in Brazil.

The exchange rate for me has varied more than differences among testimonials of price. In other words, purchase power parity is an essential piece of the story. 

If 100 reais at their highest cost among all visits represents X of my currency, 100 reais at their lowest cost was .63X because my currency bought 58% more BRL at the real's lowest value compared to its highest. Today, approximately .71X is the cost. 

I usually try to split the difference (share the benefit) somewhat when the exchange rate favours me because everything costs less. 

The real's low value maintains providers there at low prices.

This rarely gets discussed here at this forum but I’ll throw it out:

In general, twinks cost less than the garotos that are competitive athletes, bodybuilders and/or fitness models. There aren’t even any of the ones in the latter categories that will do a sauna programs for less than R100, and probably not even at R100. Of course, there are always exceptions.

I am in Brazil as I write this. 

I have been visiting Brazil for about sixteen years numerous times each year.  I could not venture a guess how many times I have been to Brazilian saunas.  I do know it is at least five hundred times. 

It has been my experience, and the experience of countless other sauna visitors, that at least half of the sauna garotos are twinks. Yes, at least half!

Perhaps we have a different opinion in defining a twink.

Maybe I need a new definition of twink but I think not.  Clearly it is not correct to write that it is rare to see twinks in the saunas.

One problem with stereotype labels is that some typologies include behavioural characteristics along with physical traits, and amount of body hair is also added, thus expanding the list well beyond the common distinction between body-builder come physique fitness model and twink.

Pups are apparently cute and energetic non-selfcentered versions of twinks and twunks, the latter a twink-hunk hybrid with a young face. To further complicate, there are muscle pups. 

Scale and context also influence perception. A lot of wolves, bulls, jocks, gym rats, and gym bunnies standing out ... and this seems to be the predominant subgroup in the suite cabin queue at 117 on a Tuesday ... can make a twunk or burgeoning hunk (muscle pup?) look more like a pup or the obnoxious smaller counterpart of a twunk.

Pups are likely more prevalent than twinks. 

One observation is that I usually imagine, perhaps overconfidently, which way to predict the likely physical evolution of any one of the younger slimmer fellows.

I can think of many examples of garotos de programa I would assign a type among a selection of 8-10 labels. 

What pushes my buttons most are legal young pretty muscle pups and handsome bulls up to 40+.  That already sounds like a contradiction. Most inbetweeners, fit but non-slender, are often viable candidates.

Let me explain. I said I've visited Thailand many times. 

So, here is my reference as to the prices in Thailand, that I've shared on some forums when I was asked.

I think this is a good example. I'm sorry in post in Brazil section, but I want to give an idea.

 

short time = up to 2 hrs, hotel nearby to the club. otherwise +taxi fare. your hotel may charge additional money for a joiner (some hotels do not)

overnight = from time you take a boy from club till EARLY morning. do whatever you like - disco, eating, sex, whatever

weekly rate = staying together in the same room, sleeping/eating/going out/beach/going another city - everything

 

Standart go-go, standart boy, short time - 1000 baht. Overnight  - 1500- 2000. 2 weeks 24 hours - 20000-25000 baht

Muscled guy  - 1000-1500. Overnight - 2000-3000. 2 weeks 24 hours - 30000 - 35000

Big competitive bodybuilder from Tawan - 2000. Overnight - 3500--5000. 2 weeks - it depends

Low class go-go, bear bar - 700-800 baht for a twink. 

 

Bar fine - to be paid daily to club (you should add it to the above mentioned rates)

Beer bar and low class gogo - 200-300

Typical go-go - 300

Tawan - 400

Sex hotel for short time-300-400 up to 700 in Bkk

Bar drink (you must buy at lest one when you come to the club) - 70- 120 beer bar, 180-200 a gogo, 300 - tawan

You put in the phrase "it depends" for one of the pricepoints. If you truly reviewed the relevant sections of the forum you should grasp that cost depends on a multitude of variables, some of which you mentioned, and a lot of others referred to here on the Board. 

Many of us have found it fairly easy to assess costs within the brothels without having had the benefit of the forum. There are usually other customers to guide. 

There is likely no clear price table for Brazil as you describe for Thailand, which looks like one of your making, that is, based on your "mileage". Most sex workers in Brazil have not likely given much thought to their own paycheque expectations across all of the time frames, or given much though to their differential value based on looks. There is no clear menu beyond a fairly established range for 30 minutes of sex plus/minus their ejaculation, perhaps also hinging on active versus passive.

You will have to do your own integrating of the breadth of info here combined with your own trial and error, as we have done.

One member here I have never met could come up to me in person for a five minute chat and a second random member could do the same. It is quite possible that I would estimate two very different costs for an equal service. Same goes for me, based on my particular characteristics.

Did it take you some time to get critical mass in BKK before you could establish 2-week BF experiences? You may need to have several visits to establish cost trends. 

But I will try to give an estimate that I would expect for myself, notwitstanding that I would prefer to have hot tar poured up my nose and bamboo splinters jackhammered under my fingernails than be tied down to one prostitute fulltime for two weeks.

If I happened to fall for one and wanted a BF experience with the type of garoto I like, shacked up in basically OK Gloria, based on his foregone earning potential and his time away from home and relational commitments, probably 1,000 reais plus his expenses per day. Considering what I pay for an escort's time at home, that would be a steal.

Bear in mind that much of my paid sex in Brazil runs no more than R$100 by the half hour.

If I were treating him to a "trip of his lifetime", for example, two weeks in Europe, I would cover all basic costs but likely not pay at all for his time. But hell will likely freeze over before any of them could persuade me.

Can you explain please what short time in sauna is (or how should I call it?). In Thailand it's clear - you pay for time, short time means up to 2, may be 2.5 hours. It doesn't matter you take him to a restaurant or for a sex

I pay for time? Or for one act? If I take a man to a suite, finish in 15 minutes, that's all? Or he'll stay with me 30 minutes so I may have some conversation with him?

Based on my experience, the best way is to take a man for a short time, then overnight (it's a must to check if you are compatibe for a long stay), then keep moving to a longer stay.

Would you recommend such tactics in Brazil?

(As to taking a man to your home country, I did it twice, and every time I paid standard rate + all expences)

I think your prices are out of date for BKK...I initially thought you were talking about Pattaya until you mentioned Tawan....and yeah, I've been about 50+ times to Thailand and as many to Brasil.....

As far as Brasil, I think people pretty much answered the question about what a sauna guy charges for sex in the sauna, the rest is up to negotiation....there not a price list or menu in Brasil...I've known guys that don't charge anything if they go to dinner, a weekend trip or to Europe if you cover their expenses.....and others that ask a king's ransom.

Look, toots, I could get repetitive strain injury writing pages upon pages but I am not going to fall into that trap. You are being somewhat obsessional and want it all laid out perfectly. The working guys would be herniating themselves in stitches over this exchange.

The sauna brothels such as Clube 117 are fairly structured. You pay the house for 30 minutes of room use and the garotos are accustomed to using up the time. With a shower before and after, the time flies. You won"t likely get a break from the house if you go over the limit even by a few minutes ... they will charge for two periods, unless you are well known or able to wear them down, as most Cariocas or repeat visitors would.

On free cabin nights only the first period is usually gratis. The privilege resets when you vacate the room. I often do an hour any time because I do not like to rush and often the guy will accept a small extra ... for example 30 minutes 125-150 translates negotiably to 60 minutes 180-200. That works for me cuz I generally do not see two guys I must have, prefer one robust orgasm, and make contact for a deferred date if another guy captures my interest. 

Social time with prostitutes onsite outside of the private room costs nothing but possibly optional refreshments. A lot of that interaction can be quasi-erotic if the client wants and the garoto knows he will get a programa.

There is no "short", only the conventional 30 minutes. "Long" is 35 minutes to infinity, there, "love motel", accommodations, etc, with a limitless array of price and sexual choreography contingencies. The go-to staffperson at 117, if you need support, is likely young little Patrick J, if still employed there. He is low in the hierarchy, usually pushing a broom, but warm-hearted, no attitude, whip-smart, and completely bilingual. I usually spend minimum 25 tipping the group of cleaners, distributing according to whim.
