Members mvan1 Posted May 30, 2019 Members Posted May 30, 2019 In a different thread about Lagoa started by a different poster, I ended my post as follows: I am currently in Brazil again and plan to go to Lagoa tonight. Remember, Wednesday and Friday are usually (not always) the busiest and best nights at Lagoa. My last few visits to Lagoa were disappointing. If the place is filled tonight and joyful, like it used to be in prior times, I will report back. I arrived at Lagoa tonight a little past six. There were hardly any customers or garotos. As time passed and within an hour, a few more clients and garotos arrived. Of the garotos at Lagoa tonight, there were about three garotos I thought looked pretty good until I saw one walk around acting effeminate which quickly made me lose interest in that one. Two other garotos looked nice but they were quickly snatched up by arriving clients. I stayed at Lagoa until a little past nine o'clock without engaging any garoto. There were several Brazilian friends at Lagoa tonight who I have known for about fifteen years. In between looking for garotos, we just talked about a lot of different things. My Brazilian friends commented about how Lagoa has had such disappointing nights over the past six months. Based on tonight's visit to Lagoa, I can now say that all of my visits to Lagoa during the past four trips (six months) were disappointing. On the other hand, if one likes twinks and effeminate garotos, there has not been a shortage of them at Lagoa during the same time period. To each his own. Members sanddunes Posted May 31, 2019 Members Posted May 31, 2019 I wonder what has changed to cause fewer garotos to go? Lagoa was so great when I was there a year ago... mvan1 1 Quote
Members likeohmygod Posted May 31, 2019 Members Posted May 31, 2019 Lagoa is the only sauna in Brazil where i'm going only if one of the following occurs: No interesting garotos available from my contact list (which is huge) No interesting garotos available from the internet (Grindr/www) Friends of users from the forum are visiting. When I go is not bad, but it cannot compare with 202 or 117. I don't even like the facilities. floridarob 1 Quote

Lagoa was so great when I was there a year ago... I don't know for sure but I think the internet ads have a lot to do with fewer guys found in the saunas. For example, if you go to the below Brazilian site link , you will find hundreds of Brazilian gatotos offering their "garoto de programa services. It is an advertising site that separates the garotos by cities in Brazil. If you click on the city where Lagoa is located (Sao Paulo) you will find 248 guys advertising. Some handsome guys are asking a bit less than is asked in the sauna. Therefore, 248 guys advertising in Sao Paulo must have a negative effect on Lagoa and Fragata as far as available garotos is concerned. The site shows many face and body photos. I recognized many of the garotos from the saunas. Here is the link: http://www.boytoy.com.br Incidentally, Rio has a huge amount of garotos on that site. Just open the site and click on the city you desire. Latbear4blk and sanddunes 2 Quote

I guess saunas have fairly fast turn over...of all the guys I met at Lagoa last year the majority are no longer working there. A good percentage don’t even live in Sao Paulo anymore. 1 is living in Milan, 1 in Vietnam, some moved to other cities in Brazil etc. Several totally vanished from whatsap/instagram, I assume erasing their past lives as they have gone on to other careers. If Lagoa goes the way of so many other gay clubs it will be a shame...the online world can’t replace the atmosphere Lagoa had at its peak. At least 117 will still be around.. The facility (Lagoa) is comprised of three separate houses. The three original owners were fortunate to find three adjoining houses with long term leases. The three separate houses were joined together to make one large facility known as Lagoa. Two of the original owners have died. Rodolfo is the sole owner now. There have been some recent "improvements" that I don't like but the changes are not my concern. I also agree that the new facility will not be as large as the current facility. Most of us who kept a sort of relationship with compatible garotos have experienced their sudden disappearance. Not all have disappeared but most have. To my pleasant surprise, I saw a rentmen.eu advertisement for two different Brazilian garotos in two different countries I visited this year. I was able to meet with one of them. What a lucky event. In other countries, garotos make a lot more money than they do in Brazilian saunas. SolaceSoul and sanddunes 2 Quote

Often, when talking to Brazilian garotos (whether in saunas or out), you’ll find some who have visited these places and more — usually either to work at the saunas and/or at the behest of a European sugar daddy who’s sponsored the trip in exchange for goodies. Also, there’s the retired garotos, or the ones that refuse to or no longer work at the saunas in Brazil (for personal reasons), but will magically appear at these European saunas during a visit paid for by.a client / temporary sugar daddy. Personally, I would not finance a trip that results in others sampling the goods I that I imported / transported there, but to each his own. Viva le difference! Quote

I'm just back from Thailand and Vietnam....I saw a few Brazilians advertising from 200-350 usd , considering how cheap those countries are to stay in, they don't have to do many programas to do ok. I'm sure the Asians that crave the Brazilian type don't mind paying, surely a lot easier and cheaper to order in for them rather than to travel to Brazil. Quote
Members likeohmygod Posted June 3, 2019 Members Posted June 3, 2019 Lagoa might have the best facilities in Brazil (not 100% sure about this actually, when compared to 117 or 202 now) but it has the worst layout ever. You're never able to get an idea about how many, who are and where are the garotos inside the sauna, so you actually need to do an active search. If you stay at the tables by the pool you cannot see what happens in the corridor and in the bar, if you stay un the bar you cannot see what happens in the corridor....and so on. In Brazilian saunas I usually like to spend my time at the bar watching the guys to make a decision, in Lagoa it's not an easy task IMHO. brockmiller and floridarob 2 Quote

Describing it as a “working vacation” would be more accurate! Quote
Members Riobard Posted June 6, 2019 Members Posted June 6, 2019 (edited) Kkkkkkk ... he means business, already advertising as of today, as "GAY"!!!! LMAO. He may be getting some destaque coaching, but not sure where his (their) head is at. Although it could mean screening out a customer base other than gay male. Edited June 6, 2019 by Riobard Quote

This particular high-end GdP brought along his live-in GF on this voyage to España. I’d bet dollars to donuts that he told the Clueless Cathy that he has to train a gym client every day from 3-9 pm. You may be onto something, Rioblather. She fits the mold of the titty dancer / plastic Barbie-type garotas that some of these “better boys” fuck / date / marry / have bambinos with — with that tacit wink-and-nod understanding that they both leave their GdP work at the front door when they get home. For all we know, “Catarina” The Singing Nun may have her own work to do in BCN, too — other than just following him wherever he may go. Edited June 6, 2019 by SolaceSoul Quote
Members Riobard Posted June 6, 2019 Members Posted June 6, 2019 The Singing Nun song I was thinking about is the French-language "Dominique" ... 'he crosses Europe up and down', but always willing to allow hot air propulsion open up the perspective. Quote
Members SolaceSoul Posted June 6, 2019 Members Posted June 6, 2019 (edited) I was fully aware of the song. It was a hit before my time (1963 — I was a 70s baby), But strangely, it went #1 in several countries, including the USA in 1963. When I started French in the 9th grade, my teacher played the song and forced us to learn the lyrics. I prefer my nun tune (a cover of the 50s hit), especially because what those ladies are singing about fits what his ball-and-chain “Dominique” must be doing. He fancies himself on the high-end of GdPs in the BRA... he’s not like those other hoes! If he brought Dominique along, a Sugar Daddy could have financed his flight and he’s obligated to him for a day or two, and then he supplements his income at Thermas “working 3 to 9... what a way to make a livin’!” Edited June 6, 2019 by SolaceSoul Quote
Members Riobard Posted June 7, 2019 Members Posted June 7, 2019 If he's organized, Papi Musculoso can burn the candle at both ends, not shy about advertising public domain where the pay-per-view-and-book is better, as well as experienced in assembly-line work where lower pay accumulates. I don't know if these folks have too much interest in Miró, Gaudí, Güell, Dalí, etc. May (pitifully) think La Rambla and La Barceloneta are the cat's meow and all there is. A tall muscular handsome friend (Mineiro? he said so, anyway) of a well-known Brazilian global export who rakes it in primarily via escort sites, though reportedly at Lagoa in winter (the friend, that is) was at Thermas one evening recently. I think he is based in Barcelona but pursuing model and 'softer' entertainment work, perhaps reluctant at this point to advertise formally. In any case, I have not seen any ads featuring him. I don't think he was pleased at offer bids opening at €40 when his friend's pricetag is apparently several (5-10?) multiples of that and supports a quasi-jetset lifestyle. He was charming as fuck sealing the deal ... I apply value-based pricing and neither really lowball especially if I am under budget due to slim pickings nor overbid and invite gouging ... but then in private he got all Viserion (after the ice-dragon transform), started with up-sell attempts that I declined. He was sexy enough I could get off but he had enough attitude to part the Mediterranean. A few other hot South Americans were much more fun and earned more off me. Quote
