Another blow to Brazil's economy

With Brazil's economy in the pits, this layoff only ads more to the economic crises. 

And, it probably adds more garotos to the saunas looking for cash to survive since they will be laid off from their government job.

Plans are mainly aimed at older workers who are approaching retirement age or who are already retired under the INSS.

Older workers or younger workers losing their job is a negative hit to the economy - because paychecks stop.  

Approaching retirement does not mean the workers are not currently drawing a paycheck. 

When they get laid off, they will no longer have a paycheck.  Hence, another hit to the economy.

I understood the comment related to the age group mainly impacted to be linked to the assumption about garoto inventory, not intended to downplay the negative overall economic consequences. But that said, grandsons of the pink-slipped ... ?
