KhorTose Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 I would really like to read this book. When it comes out would someone please publish the ISBN of this book? Quote
Guest GayPattayan Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I was hoping, based on the notice posted, that Michael's book on the gay history of Pattaya would already be available, but as I checked this past week, apparently it will be available for purchase only on the official launch day, January 7, 2009. "BOYZTOWN -- 1982 - 2008" by Michael Burchall is now almost ready for purchase. Michael Burchall will be on the terrace at Ambiance to sign copies and talk about the book. Having spent several hours with him last fall recording his recollections of the early days of gay life in Pattaya, I am still very anxious to get a copy of the book for myself, and several for friends. 600 baht is a reasonable price, especially considering 300 baht of that will be paid over to the Pattaya Gay Festival. I hope to see a lot of people at Ambiance Terrace Wednesday evening, 9 p.m. to 10:30, for the book signings. Michael is a fabulous story teller, and he has documents and records to back up most of his memories and recollections. It should be a real treasure of a book. Allen -- G.P. Quote
PattayaMale Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 I believe that Allen (GayPattayan) helped Michael decide to get his memories on paper. It is fantastic that Michael did this as some of us were worried after we started to lose so many friends that had been around for a long time and who were very influential in making Pattaya such a great place for the gay farangs, that this important history would be lost. I had the pleasure of hearing some of the interviews that Allen (GP) did in his effort to make sure this history was recorded. Now that Michael has put his story into book form, I feel we will have not only a very interesting book to read but a first person knowledge of the development of Pattaya the "Amazing City" Quote
