I know.

I prefer massage places or websites. I feel more secure that I will find what I want. Saunas, as people wrote here, are quite random. You can find 15 guys that are perfect for you or zero.

This reminds me of the week from last year's august if I remember, where it looked like that the Rio sauna scene was definitely dead. There were just a few garotos, bad quality.

The same thing happened in June, where I wrote a topic about Lagoa, lamenting a lack of quality and bad attitude from the boys. 

Thing have changed... in better. Bad periods can happen. 

It is nearly 3 years that I am listening to complaints from local customers and sauna owners, that the internet is making the boys leave the saunas. But I suspect that some people are forcing the comparison between now and the old years where internet wasn't yet so present in a Brazilian GPs life. Of course now it's different, but new garotos are always coming, and the saunas are always making good money. 

A couple of weeks ago I was speaking with a garoto from 117. He wasn't a new face for me but I did never see him in a sauna. He is one of the best looking guys in Rio escort scene in my opinion (I was in the muscular side that time... You know that I have variable tastes day by day) . I asked him what he was doing there and he told me that he needed to advertise and to make some money. I didn't understand why cause I was sure he was getting tons of customers in the internet. 

He told me that internet and apps are good but there's too much offer in the last times and that internet has a huge problem which saunas don't have... Time wasters. 

I hope that @mvan1 you will have a great time next time you come.

When there are more boys than clients, everybody makes less money and it becomes more work than it is when there are tons of guys in the saunas seeking out the garotos...

Some travel back to wherever they live...some travel abroad, some work their regular jobs...I did find out that most of the guys that are in the saunas during the peak season...December to right after Carnival have other things to do...

You will notice the guys who are in the sauna scene throughout the year because they are the ones who everybody seems to know versus the guys who come to Rio during the high tourist season where they make the most money

Although it is interesting to see the fluctuation of the number of tourists that previously visited Brazil, I do not think those statistics explain why there was been a major lull in available garotos during the past few weeks in Sao Paulo. 

Too bad there are no statistics that show those facts.

Moving on:

In previous posts about Salvador, I briefly mentioned an older payboy sauna called Olympus. It’s in the Centro neighborhood of Tuitui, which is slightly east of Av. Sete de Setembro intown. For years, it has been a hit-or-miss proposition, not very well-appointed and not too many garotos or clients. Out of curiosity, since I was in the neighborhood, I went by Olympus and was impressed with the vast redecoration job done downstairs. I was also told by staff and working boys that Fridays and Saturdays are busy nights at this smaller sauna. I went on a late Sunday afternoon and saw about 5 working garotos — 2 of which, IMHO, were worth my hiring, 

Sauna Olympus has been around for quite some time. It’s in a decent (for Salvador) downtown area family neighborhood and is easily accessible by Uber, cab or bus. It’s also within a close driving distance to Clube 11 (in Tororó), so if you’re in the area, on a weekend, a reasonable 2-sauba trip would be Olympus/Clube 11 (or vice versa).

I never wrote that Clube 11 was in Nazaré. In actuality, I wrote that my late arrival lead me to head up to Nazaré/Tororo as opposed to Pituba.

I stayed up there 3 years ago and again went to eat outside of Tororo following the club. You can google map restaurants and make inquiries about the sexually frustrated Canuck who waltzed in for an empanada, since you may have nothing better to do. 

You saw fit to correct what you perceived to be a geographic gaffe that I never committed. We all know your grasp of the city is good and your unparalleled social integration is at a level we brief visitors can never hope to reach.

What I meant was that the collective does not appreciate ongoing disputes between posters. 

The SP example, if I recall correctly, was a very singular and isolated example of normative interplay among a few members that I thought was working together collaboratively to knit together directions. A little heated, perhaps, but resolved. Perhaps you are an only child from a small reserved family. Perhaps one lifetime error was disproportionately costly.

I don't know what your point is about name handles. These things are between member and administration. You lack respect for both sides, since you will take pot shots at anybody, ie, some members are too "portly or corpulent" to be "thrown" as a measure "trust" (Dec 2018) ... when some respected contributors have been candid about body issues and intrusive measures taken to ameliorate related health problems. Well, follow your own advice, and just read what you like and ignore the rest. I can ignore posts about twinks, bears, aging porn stars and Republicans — surely you can skip parts you don’t like on a message board that offend your sensibilities. 

Countless threads get “derailed”, for numerous reasons, and by countless people, for various reasons — including, but not limited to, threads about Lagoa that end up about Salvador.

I do not know if it is true for the garotos at the saunas but usually people from São Paulo travel from Christmas time until the middle of January. The city is less crowded during these dates.

Carnival is becoming bigger in São Paulo, but the week before Carnaval also has huge events, may paulistas go to Rio or Bahia for Carnaval.

The two main touristic events in São Paulo are the F1 race and the Gay Parade.

Sometimes I’m right there with Riobard and I feel like he’s being bullied... and then I read his post with all these words that that you need a MA in English to figure out and I kinda understand the bullying lol.  I swear I have had to use context clues more in this forum than I did all 5 years I spent in college lol!  But either way we should all be kind to each other and all that other Sesame Street/Barney lovey dovey shit.  While we might have different ways of describing it we all all here for the same thing!
