Guest MonkeySee Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 It takes a while for your saliva to break down the cum in your mouth. Most people either swallow or spit it out. Maybe a few like to savor the flavor? Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Even if you swallow some is going to stay attached to your gums for a little while. If you brush you not only make minor abraisions you also brush the cum into those abraisons. Quote

Guest slackersam Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Yeah. Just don't brush for a half an hour. No big deal. Quote
Gaybutton Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 It takes a while for your saliva to break down the cum in your mouth. "Researchers announced today that saliva causes stomach cancer. But only when swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time." - George Carlin Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 The HIV virus is a fragile virus and dies when it is exposed to air. I had heard this too and thought it to be true, but in the San Francisco AIDS link, it says differently. The site has a chapter on the subject, but a small quote says, "Air does not "kill" HIV, but exposure to air dries the fluid that contains the virus, and that will destroy or break up much of the virus very quickly. The CDC reports that drying HIV reduces viral amount by 90-99% within several hours." The entire article is worth reading. Here is the link again, http://www.sfaf.org/aids101/transmission.html I just wish this English version could be translated into Thai. The bar boys could really use the information. If we could help one of those new boys from Isaan, fresh off the bus, it would be worth it. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I stand corrected. Air essentially renders the virus inactive. Quote

Guest fountainhall Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I just wish this English version could be translated into Thai Is this something those of use who post on this Board could contribute to? I'd be happy to offer Bt.1,000. But how then to make sure the article is circulated to Thai guys? Quote

Guest slackersam Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 My experience is that the bar boys for the most part play safe already. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 My experience is that the bar boys for the most part play safe already. Many may play it safe with a farang, but I have heard it is common not to bother when with another Thai. The new boys off the farm, I am sure, do not understand many things about HIV. Like fountianhall, I would be happy to contribute to a fund that could translate the "San Francisco Aid" sight into Thai. I believe it could save many lives. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Many may play it safe with a farang, but I have heard it is common not to bother when with another Thai. I think most bar boys do play safe. I am much more concerned at the number of saunas rapidly springing up in Bangkok popular with young Thais where there is no information about HIV-AIDS, no condoms, no lube, and where I am told barebacking is virtually the norm. I hasten to add this is not my observation. It was stated some months ago on TV by one of the gay community leaders who even suggested that all saunas should be shut down. I raised this topic on another board some months ago, and was told to mind my own business. Fair enough! But I happen to live here. I feel some responsibility for ensuring that the safe sex message keeps being spread and that young lives are not being thrown away. Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Reading various gay blogs on the Internet I've noticed that most guys when talking about sauna experiences in America talk about barebacking experiences. I think it's becoming part of the Sauna culture worldwide. I've also noticed that on many of they gay hook up sites more and more guys are leaving their status line blank. And that some guys who list "safe only" on their profiles ask about barebacking once I send my initial email. I think that younger guys are less afraid of HIV than those of us who have been around the block. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 I enjoy the Babylon Sauna. They provide a condom and lube in each locker. I wish more saunas would follow the lead. Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 They can provide them all they want, but if the younger generation won't use them it won't help much. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think that younger guys are less afraid of HIV than those of us who have been around the block I totally agree. It's like they consider it something that other people catch, not them. They can provide them all they want, but if the younger generation won't use them it won't help much. I understand that most of the newer saunas don't provide anything but towels. So it's hardly surprsing that "safe sex" is fading into the background. Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think a lot of is that the average 18 year old guy - gay or straight - will want to have unprotected sex unless you scare the shit out of him about it. It takes time to mature and understand consequences plus they didn't grow up seeing gay men getting sick and die. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Agreed. But how to get the message across effectively? Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Refuse to fuck them if they won't use a condom. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Better yet, refuse to PAY them unless they use a condom. They will certainly comply then. Quote
Guest slackersam Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Well that's true for gogo boys and rent boys, but won't help with the majority of young gay men. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Agreed. But how to get the message across effectively? Education and information is the best tool and start it in school, when they are young and impressionable. Peer education may also work. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 Education and information is the best tool I wonder what has happened to Khun Meechai? He was popularly known as Thailand's 'condom king' for his strenuous efforts to promote family planning through use of condoms. Part of his tactic was to de-mystify the condom by holding condom inflating contests (was going to use "blowing" but that might give the wrong impression ) and other fun-type events. When HIV reared its ugly heads, he started promoting condom use for gays and achieved considerable success. He even opened up some restaurants under the "Condoms and Cabbages" name. So associated was he with condom use that condoms are often called" Meechais" in Thailand. He then became the speaker of parliament for a while, whereafter his condom promotion activities seemed to disappear. I wish he'd start them again. Quote
