TRAGIC NEWS FROM ALASKA!!!

One of my favorite moments was when Tina Fey did a parody of Sarah Palin . . . using the very same words Palin had used. Her comments were so ridiculous that Tina Fey didn't have to change a thing. Now, that's a first!

Yep, the SNL moments were definitely a hoot and a highlight of the political season. They skewered her but good (and, like you said, GB, on one occasion by simply parroting the self-immolation she had already accomplished all by herself).

We all seem to have the same attitude about Ms. Palin and her views. And it would seem that we all would like to see the same end - that being the end of her political career, at least on the national level. What we disagree with is the appropriate means to achieve that end.

Very true!

What we disagree with is the appropriate means to achieve that end.

At the rate she's going, I don't think we have to worry - she'll skewer herself without much help from any one else.

For whatever good it will do, local prosecutors do not pass that kind of information up the chain let alone to the governor or state attorney general. Local (county) prosecutors don't work for the governors and rarely ever talk with even the attorney general's office (and, then, only if the AG has been involved in the particular matter or investigation - usually one of state-wide significance). My beliefs there are based on a 33+ year career working as a lawyer and having worked with colleagues both in local prosecutors' offices and the attorney general's office. Your comments are pure speculation based on nothing but....speculation (and, of course, you're doing that because you detest Ms. Sarah). But, for whatever reason, you seem to know better here and are so sure of yourself. I'm wondering if you could give us one iota of evidence (or, perhaps, what you know about communications between local prosecutors and governor's offices) that might help us understand why you're so sure of yourself here.

The local presecurors might not pass on information...I'm not sure. But, I can garuntee that law enforcement passed that information up the chain faster than I can type about it. When the Palin name entered the picture, you can bet that either FBI and/or DEA local agents were informed, and likeing their jobs, these agents passed the informatin upstairs, and the Secret Service probably knew about this informatino within hours.

This is based on my own participation in state politics and fire protection for a few years. Also, that the reality is it affects the ability to provide protection of Palin by the SS.

The sad thing is the GOP still loves her.

Only sad for those Republicans who feel they cannot speak up against the right-wing elements of their political party (I suspect they are not as enamored of Palin). As for the Democrats, I'd guess they are happy as hell about it and are praying daily that Palin remain as one of the idols (to be read "chain around one's neck) of the Republican party through the 2012 elections.

I think the republicans just want to fuck her and her daughters.

When they are not trolling for gay sex in rest rooms, that is.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sarah Palin lost the election, but she's a winner to a connoisseur of quotations. The Republican vice presidential candidate and her comedic doppelganger, Tina Fey, took the top two spots in this year's list of most memorable quotes compiled by Fred R. Shapiro.

First place was "I can see Russia from my house!" spoken in satire of Palin's foreign policy credentials by Fey on "Saturday Night Live."

Palin actual quote was: "They're our next-door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska."

Palin also made the third annual list for her inability to name newspapers she reads. When questioned by CBS anchor Katie Couric, Palin said she reads "all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years."

Palin's quotes were pivotal, said Shapiro, associate librarian and lecturer in legal research at the Yale Law School who compiles the list.

"This quote helped shape the election results," he said of the Russia quote. "As it sank in the public realized this was someone really, really inexperienced and perhaps lacking in curiosity about the world."

Shapiro issued his Yale Book of Quotations, with about 13,000 entries, two years ago after six years of research. He expects to release the next edition in about five years, but in the meantime plans to issue annual top 10 lists.

Palin's daughter's boyfriend should have one with the quote "I swear I'll pull out."

Here is another news clip about our favorite gal, Sarah.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has given birth to a son, a magazine reported Monday.

Bristol Palin, 18, gave birth to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Saturday, People magazine reported online. He weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Colleen Jones, the sister of Bristol's grandmother, told the magazine that "the baby is fine and Bristol is doing well."

The governor's office said it would not release information because it considers the baby's birth a private, family matter. Palin family members, hospital employees and spokespeople for the governor's former running mate, John McCain, either would not confirm the birth or did not return messages from The Associated Press.

The father is Levi Johnston, a former hockey player at Alaska's Wasilla High School.

Palin announced on Sept. 1, the first day of the Republican National Convention, that her unwed daughter was pregnant. The campaign issued a statement saying Bristol "and the young man" would get married.

Levi Johnston's mother eventually disclosed that her 18-year-old son was the father. The following week, the young man attended the convention in St. Paul, Minn., when Palin accepted the vice presidential nomination.

The announcement that the unmarried Bristol Palin, 17 at the time, was pregnant immediately drew concerns that it could damage Palin's credibility as a religious conservative. But many observers noted the pregnancy served to humanize the Palins and showcase the candidate's rejection of abortion.

Sherry Johnston, Levi's mother, said in October that Bristol and her son were considering a summer wedding.

Levi Johnston told The Associated Press that month that he and Bristol loved each other and wanted to get married. Johnston, who dropped out of high school to take a job on the North Slope oil fields as an apprentice electrician, said he was a little shocked to learn that Bristol was pregnant but quickly warmed to the idea of being a father.

He said the two had planned to get married even before Bristol became pregnant.

Johnston, an avid hunter, hinted at the time that they were expecting a boy. He said he was already looking forward to taking the boy hunting and fishing.

Johnston's mother was arrested on felony drug charges this month after state troopers served a search warrant at her Wasilla home. According to authorities, she sent text messages to two police informants in which she discusses making drug transactions involving OxyContin, a strong prescription painkiller.

Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, have five children ranging in age from Trig, 7 months, to Track, 19. In between are Willow, 14; Piper, 7; and Bristol.

I'm just happy that she realizes how powerful dick is.

I think the most frightening things about the whole Palin experience is the fact that she was actually elected into office. What does that say about the people who elected her and the place where she lives?

It means she pretty and something like 11 people live in Alaska

When looking at dumb laws, I came across this one from Alaska. I wonder if this is of Sarah's doings? It is the state policy that emergencies are held to a minimum and are rarely found to exist.-Sec. 44.62.270. State policy.

When it came to Katrina, right you are.

I wonder how FEMA would have reacted if Katrina had hit a wealthy white Republican city.
