To me that just indicates consent was not actually given.  The client likely mislead the garoto on the intent of the pictures (private use only vs. posting on a public forum).

Consent was given

However, as you wrote, the garoto was misled by the client concerning the future use of the photos taken.

I don't think Badboy ever posted photos..at least not nude ones so let's not put him under the microscope.

I have stopped posting all pics and will soon stop posting as well,  as I think I have imparted all the knowledge I have to give, and their are new posters that are more then up to the job!  I have noticed in the  last year there are newer posters who are knowlegable and write well(Numazu1).  One point, gays are often most criticized and attacked by other gays who feel the power of the keyboard warrior!  I am always suspicious of someone who has been a member one day and starts critiquing in their first posts(are they really new or just chicken to post under their first name on here to make a point!?), other long term members/posters, imho.

anyhow, guys try to enjoy what information this forum can provide you.  and if you are in Brazil or Mexico and see me say Hi!

Am I the only one that misses the old Boytoy from a few years ago, when Tomcal, Badboy and everyone else posted nudes and discussed their sexcapades.  BiLatin was a poster from that era.

It seems boytoy is going the way of tumblr where “porn” is now banned.

Theoretically, I understand that posting photos of garotos on a totally open board isn’t fair to them.  It’s easy as posters to forget we aren’t just posting among friends, and that in fact the whole world can access these forums.

Still, this board was a hell of a lot more fun in the old days..

I am not sure whether boytoy is devolving into anti porn Tumblr, or evolving into a community more respectful of sex workers' privacy and rights. The point some of us are making is not about censoring nudes because of legal or moral issues, but about being more aware and respectful of the basic rights of the working boys. I am all for pornography, I am against into sneaking pictures under false promises, and then sharing them publicly online.

Badboy has definitely posted identifiable nude photos of garotos in the past. He may have stopped that process so as not to offend or upset garotos — and IMHO, good for him for doing so, but he did post these kinds of photos early on.

Let's say it again. When we eventually point out to some friend here posting pictures of boys it is not for blaming and pointing fingers. I have done it, I have encourage others to do it, I have enjoyed the pictures. We are learning from our mistakes to become a better community, more respectful, appreciative, and protective of everyone's rights, clients and providers.

There is one more thing I want to say again. @TotallyOz, I WANT MORE TIME TO BE ABLE TO EDIT posts. I am horrible at proofreading. Most times I do not notice my typos and mistakes until someone reacts or comments on my post and then I reread them.

Anyway, my English is beyond shame. :)

Porn is probably still fine to post. What should not be fine, however, is gratuitously posting identifiable pics of sex workers, especially without their knowledge and permission of specifically what these photos are going to be used for and where they are publicly posted.

If the latter is truly “fun” to you, then we should see how “fun” it is for clients to have their photos involuntarily posted on what amounts to be a publicly accessible message board, too. There are several clients and posters here who some of us know who they are and may even have photos in  our possession (from WhatsApp messages or profiles, face-to-face meetings, even garotos sharing with clients). How much “fun” would that be if the shoe were on the other foot? Fun? Yippee!

In the past, clients’ or posters’ photos have been involuntarily shared here, and the moderator has removed them lickety-split! Why does our privilege protect our anonymity, yet identifying garotos and sex workers can be fair game?

The new boytoy rules seem to say that no nudity is allowed at all on the Latin American forum - all posts with nudity must be posted only in the Porn Section.

Nobody is saying identifiable pics should be posted any longer, the new rules ban all nudes recognizable or not.

And yes it is fun *among friends* to swap stories and pics of garotos (the garotos talk about clients amongst themselves as much or more).

The problem is posting on boytoy is sharing with the entire internet and many frenemy’s, some of whom are intentionally leaking stuff back to garotos (even from the private forum).

Thanks Tomcal for trying to come to my rescue...

Of course there are some people who will investigate and make anyone who was not aware of my old, previous posts...Posts even I forgot about...

A few of the posts where I did post pics were missing so hopefully they will be found and added so that newer members can enjoy...(hint, hint)

Over the last few years its been harder to get photos from guys, probably due to people reporting back to the guys in the sauna that they were being posted online...

Some clients will also share information about other clients with garotos (or try to get information about other clients from garotos). Some garotos will also volunteer information about clients to other nosey clients who ask.

Nothing is ever private on the internet. Unless the private group is so controlled that everyone viewing it is personally known to everyone, I cannot possibly see a way that information posted even at a private group on a public message board can be exposed.

I can't believe some of you queens are still ragging on about the ethics of posting escort photos of guys who work in bathhouses. With permission or not. What the fuck is wrong with you assholes? Were you dropped at birth?

I have a good idea: for every guy who wishes to post escort photos on a public forum, they MUST allow escorts to post nude photos of those very same customers. I think that would shut most of these assholes up but quick.

Sure, you miss the "fun," but have no answers for the consequences. It's all about having "fun" for some selfish people. Nothing else matters, even when someone gets seriously hurt.

Thanks for the memories. Obviously, my time on this forum is coming to an end.

Be sure to let the door kick you in the ass on the way out. Anyone who quits a board and announces it because his "fun" has ended is an ASSHOLE. Good riddance.

PS It's a new year and I'm feeling feisty.

I'm with RockHard here. If the boys don't post public pictures of themselves, we shouldn't either. Treat people as you would wish to be treated and all that.

I don't have the same hangups about 'exploiting' these guys, because I have spent decades being exploited by my employers. I sell myself to earn money.

I personally think it would have been nicer to sell my body than bits of my soul. I'm not complaining; I got well paid. But I think almost all of us are whores and pretending that selling sex is somehow more degrading than selling your mind is quaint.

This will someday be an interesting case study in how to let trolls ruin a message board.

Yawn.  Please do tell me how these escorts would be getting seriously hurt.

The only place any recognizable photos have been posted in years is on the PRIVATE forum.  Nobody is advocating to put recognizable photos on the public forum, except when these garotos already advertise themselves all over the internet (a decent percentage have ads up on rentment, brazilian escort sites, grindr, and post nude photos of themselves).  Oh and many can be found starring in various porn videos.

Part of the complaint and the reason the fun is ruined is that NO NUDES AT ALL are now allowed on the Latin American forums.

How many family members of these garotos are browsing an AMERICAN ESCORT SITE anyway?  Why would they even be looking here?  None of them use their real names at the saunas, and even if they did, there are probably 20 million “Fernando’s” in Brazil.

It’s interesting that posters on this thread discussing privilege havn’t acknowledged that being handsome or beautiful is also a form of privilege.

So garotos in a sense *are* privileged (just not economically)

This has got to be the most ridiculous attempts at deflection or rationalization of poor behavior that I’ve witnessed on this site thus far.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have yet to see an escort who deserved the title "privileged."

A certain type of "beauty" may open a few doors in life. It may get you more attention for a minute. But privilege? I guess it depends on how people treat your beauty, or whether they agree with your definition.

Some people think beauty is a curse. I wonder how they feel about "privilege?"

Probably 99% of the people posting on this board are not “privileged” either.  Just because a schoolteacher can save up a few bucks to go to Rio on their summer break doesn’t make them “privileged.”

Privilege is something you benefit from without any work or effort of your own.

Someone with a trust fund or inherited wealth is economically privileged, someone who studied and became a doctor/lawyer/other professional and makes a decent salary isn’t privileged, because they earned it (truly privileged people don’t have to actually WORK for their money)

The idea that beauty is a curse is about as ridiculous an idea as saying that being born rich is a curse.  Both are unearned advantages and forms of privilege.

Sorry, I must disagree with your above asserted interpretation of the word - "privileged" and how it relates to attractive escorts and/or attractive people and of your word use of "deserved."

Whether we like it or not, good-looking people are often given special privileges over not so good looking people.  It is just a fact of life.

You wrote, for example, "I have yet to see an escort who deserved the title "privileged."???

Do you really believe that an exceptionally good looking escort or any other exceptionally good looking person is not privileged, while those people are repeatedly given opportunities not given to others who do not have exceptional looks?

Ignoring exceptional escorts for the moment, take the Brazilian model, Gisele Bundchen.  She is an exceptionally good looking woman who was, for years, the highest paid female model, mostly because of her looks.  Her privilege did not last only "for a minute" as you wrote.

Another example, take the actor George Clooney.  Is it not clear that his good looks are what propelled him with the privilege of becoming wealthy through his opportunity to make motion picture films as a leading man.  His career has lasted more than "a minute."

I could list countless others who used their goods looks to advance.

It is denial to profess that good looks do not often make a person privileged, a privilege that lasts far longer than one minute.

I can think of countless impoverished persons all over the globe who are much more handsome than George Clooney, or much more beautiful than Gisele Bundchen, that will never be rich or famous, due to lack of privilege, connections and opportunity.

Both of these, BTW, were born into privilege.

Clooney’s mother, Nina Bruce (née Warren), was a beauty queen and city councilwoman. His father, Nick Clooney, is a former anchorman and television host, including five years on the AMCnetwork. Clooney is of Irish, German, and English ancestry. His maternal great-great-great-great-grandmother, Mary Ann Sparrow, was the half-sister of Nancy Lincoln, mother of President Abraham Lincoln. Clooney has an older sister named Adelia (known as Ada). Cabaret singer and actress Rosemary Clooney was an aunt. Through Rosemary, his cousins include actors Miguel Ferrer, Rafael Ferrer, and Gabriel Ferrer, who is married to singer Debby Boone.

Gisele’s upbringing was comparatively upper class for Brazilians. Her mother was a bank clerk pensioner, and her father was a college professor and writer, who were both of German descwnt (not Black or Indigenous Brazilians, which immediately affects their class in Brazil).

Your response concerning Bundchen and Clooney is appreciated.  I used those two because they are people most would recognize by name or sight.

While it is true they were born into financial privilege, without their good looks, they both would now be “has beens” in their field of work - no doubt about it.

What if Bundchen and Clooney had been ugly or just ordinary looking - would they have had the opportunities they had?  I doubt it.

So, I initially used poor examples of well-known people to make my point.

Let me use an example of one of my personal clients who is a very prominent film director/producer and an academy award winner.

He is extremely wealthy and influential in many circles.  No question, his children are/were born into privilege.

He has a daughter who repeatedly tried to use her father's influence to break into the film industry and become a leading lady in movies.

Unfortunately, the daughter is plain and borders on being ugly.

Regardless of the status and influence of her father, the daughter will never be a star or a leading lady as she so much wants to be.  As a courtesy to her father, she was given small bit parts but never anything of substantive importance in a film.

Reasonable people can disagree - - - (and they do, quite often).
