It could be “a ta”, which if said after something in a sentence, could mean “to you”. Or, most likely, if said alone in response to something you said, “a tá” is just short for, “ah! Tá bom!”, which is basically, “oh, it’s fine”, “Oh, OK”, or “Ah, I see”.
