Gaybutton Posted December 21, 2008 Author Posted December 21, 2008 Now, this is what more places should be doing. I agree. Apparently Pascal understands exactly the same thing we've been talking about. If you want to attract customers during hard times, then offer incentives and reduced prices. Once word of these prices and the quality of the menu begins to circulate, reservations will likely be a must. If some of the bars would figure out the same thing, they wouldn't be in trouble. Quote
Guest lvdkeyes Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 . If some of the bars would figure out the same thing, they wouldn't be in trouble. Are you suggesting 2 for 1 sale on drinks and/or boys? Quote
PattayaMale Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 About 3 weeks ago I ate at Casa Pascal on their gourmet menu. (1400 baht) I asked about the veal liver since I had seen it on a few menus. I was told it was very popular in Europe so I had that for my main course. It was fantastic! Now that I see it for 395, I will make sure to go there again hoping it will be as good as when on the gourmet menu. Of course their all the wine you want to drink for 1400 baht which I also had, might have contributed to the wonderful taste of the meal. Quote
Gaybutton Posted December 21, 2008 Author Posted December 21, 2008 Are you suggesting 2 for 1 sale on drinks and/or boys? That sounds better every time I hear it . . . They could introduce happy hour prices, have contests or drawings for free offs or drinks, do what Monty did and have either free or discounted off fees after certain hours, and probably many different ideas. Simply lowering the music volume would get me to come in a lot more often. I'm sure there are plenty of things the bars can do to attract more customers rather than watch them walk right by. Quote
Guest lester1 Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 I have always been puzzled by the music in gogo bars. The average age of the customers probably works out as early middle age (aka almost past it) and so the music played sounds to them like a prolonged nuclear explosion. The boys on stage, judging by their lethargic attempts to dance, presumably assume this is funky fashionable western music and have to give it a go, but what they would really like is something from Issan. I suspect that the owners of these bars are stuck in a time warp and try and match their bar to disco scenes from early Starsky and Hutch. Of course, there are a few other reasons why this music is a good idea. First, loudness combined with deafness and dementia allows certain little 'mistakes' to be made with the bills. Secondly, desperate for some peace and quiet and wishing to prolong the tactile groping of the silky smooth thighs sitting to their left, they decide to 'off' the creature and leave. This brings them to the third reason why the music is a good idea which is that the music stops the need for conversation. Thus they find that the handful of Thai words they know combined with the similar number of English words the boy knows doesnt lead to much communication. Fourthly, I suppose the rather smutty conversations held betwen farangs and boys about what might be possible in the bedroom later which normally would be at a volume just sufficient to rise above the music but not quite loud enough to assure that there is no misunderstanding involved, are at least not heard by neighbouring custiomers. Nothing would put me off sex more than overhearing what some pensioner wants to be allowed to do later. Quote
