That would be good news if the loud lady boys were not there anymore.  Although they have every right to be there, they are loud and sometimes  aggressive.

Did you go to Paragonya recently and a lot?  Or, did you just happen to be there a couple of times when there were not many lady boys?

As we know, a place can be quite different from one visit to another.

I stopped visiting Paragonya not long after the famous Carousel Bar closed.

Other posters have also reported about seeing lady boys at Paragonya and reported about negative experiences at Paragonya.  Check back through the postings.

I just looked at hotel prices in the area.  The prices are still in the 300 - 400 range.  Perhaps the rates are high because it is still summer and it is tourist season in Zurich and the hotels are in the better part of Zurich.

I am happy for you that you can still enjoy Zurich.  I used to enjoy that city a lot  Now, there are too many other  places in Europe where a fun time is more easy to predict.  Barcelona is a place I have visited many times and I have never been disappointed there.

By the way, below is a screen shot of hotel prices in Zurich for this time of year.  Some are cheap but many are outrageously priced and many claim to be four and five star but they are not:

I am in Zurich a couple of times a year and I always go to Paragonya. The selection of men is great and and I never experienced a pickpocket problem there. As you may recall there is video surveillance in the locker area.

Also, you may remember that Carusel Bar closed about 7 years ago. So your information may not reflect the current situation.

As for hotel Zurich for sure is not the cheapest, but there are very good options like:

https://www.motel-one.com/en/hotels/zurich/hotel-zurich/

I think is ok if you don't like to visit Zurich anymore and prefer Barcelona (a great city) instead, but I feel it is not appropriate to add outdated information in this chat.

While talking about Zurich, has anyone here met with this guy: https://www.planetromeo.com/#/hunq/ChrisEvans98

He seems genuine, and told me he's from Czech Republic.

He is using a name which is very similar to a Bel Ami model (Kris Evans).

Looks good

You got lucky in getting the Scheuble for that price.  Maybe an advance prepaid rate.

I reserved (Booking.com) a few months ahead, no deposit but contingent on a 24? 48? hr cancellation penalty, and did not pay the bill until check-in ... in CHF, but equivalent to $134.55 USD per night for 5 nights.

I thought I might lose a night visiting Basel, because I was not about to endure the inconvenience of packing my one-month baggage to check out for an excursion west, but was able to easily see Basel sights within a DIY day train trip.

My overall remarks are contained in a thread here a few months ago, in which you also contributed posts.

Good for you that you like Zurich.  I used to enjoy that city a lot.

Just so you know, the cameras that you mentioned that are in the locker area cannot record pick pocketing that is done by escorts who leave the premises with a client.  That was the complaint - pick pocket happened to a number of clients who took guys away from Paragonya.  This was common knowledge by many.

I am not clear how Carousel bar closing seven years ago is adding outdated information to this chat.  I am not advising anyone to go to the Carousel, it is long gone.

If you go back over what I wrote, I said that I used to visit Carousel bar a long time ago but that it closed after many patrons reported being robbed by Romanians who went out of the bar with them to their hotel or house or apartment.  The Romanians who used to work out of Carousel, migrated to Paragonya and caused problems there.   Again, check out the postings of others and you will see when the decline occurred.

You said you visit Zurich a couple of times a year and always go to Paragonya.  That means you are not always at Paragonya.  Have you considered things happen at Paragonya while you are not in Zurich?   You admitted you are not at Paragonya full time.  Because you are at Paragonya a few times each year and do not observe negative happenings, does not mean that bad thing don't happen there?

Like I said, go back over the prior postings.  You will see many reports of negative things about Paragonya that occurred during the times you were not present at Paragonya.

Continue to have a good time at Paragonya in the future.

Did you visit Paragonya and have a good time?  Would you compare the place similarly to sauna Thermas in Barcelona?

Were the loud lady boys gone?

What was the approximate asking price for the guys in Paragonya?

I always liked the facilities there.  The place is clean and somewhat elegant.  It was the major negative changes that caused me to stop visiting there.

Maybe I can give the place another try.

I always had a good time in Paragonya. Staff is very friendly, place is clean and well maintained compared to Thermas.

I have not seen lady boys in recent years.

The going rate is 100CHF. Is more expensive compared to Thermas, but still a good rate.

I think is worth giving another try.

I went back and found the thread.  Thanks -

In the thread you praised Paragonya highly along with 117 and Thermas (Barcelona) - At the time you wrote the post in March, I was still under the impression that the place was not for me.

Maybe it is time to give Paragonya another try.

Considering the prior negative experiences I had at Paragonya, I just assumed the place was not for me any longer.

Their marketing personnel must have done a great job.

Apologies, but your information is just outdated and could be considered FAKE NEWS.

- you mentioned you stopped going to Paragonya after Carousel closed about 7 years ago, so you have not been there fore a couple of years
- is it the fault of the sauna if you take home a guy who steals at your place?

Just saying.

Have a good time in Barcelona.

I was there and reviewed it more recently than March ... it was the last week of May. All the luckier for a great hotel rate because not in the weather drabness between late alpine and early summer tourism.

The hotel you mentioned, Hotel Scheuble, seems to be only a short distance from Paragonya.   In fact, based on the map, it is less than two short blocks away from Paragonya.

Did you find Hotel Scheuble to be of good quality and would you stay there again?

I read in the internet that the hotel was renovated in the past couple of years.

I am returning to Vienna in a couple of weeks.  Usually, I fly Austrian Airlines direct to Vienna but I could just as easily fly Swiss and have a stop over in Zurich a couple of days and check out Paragonya on my return to Vienna.

The loud and numerous lady boys formerly found at Paragonya are gone, for sure?

Is there a fair selection of working guys from various parts of the world other than from Romania?

You rated Paragonya's quality up there with 117 and Thermas -

That would be nice.

Thanks in advance for an answer.

Hmmmm, what to say, what to say? I can describe but not predict or recommend. I would not tend to look beyond my spidey sense or past experience to importune others to neutralize a gut feeling.

Your Zürich goblet appears to be half empty.

Sometimes it is easier if you spread out the ownership of a decision rather than fretting alone about a choice. A reasonable coping strategy if you can find others to accept the off-load.

Maybe the femme twinks were away at a Sound of Music reenactment retreat and the Roma riff-raff were busy elsewhere figuring out how to sneak in for free to a petty thievery refinement workshop.

How do you solve a problem like unpredictability? A trip can be like a snippety-whippit.

I myself tend to decision-make based on curiosity as opposed to others' opinions. I cannot guarantee that my positive lodgings and hiring experiences would be replicated for myself, let alone others whose expectations may be more 'ancy'.

About a half dozen Paragonya trade met my criteria. If they had not been on the menu, my impressions would be different, n'est-ce pas?

Thank you for your interesting and coded non committal response!

I realize what is good for you may or may not be good for me or for anyone else.  That explains your guarded response.

I understand your reluctance to affirm that Paragonya will be as it was for you when I return to the place.

Certainly, we all perceive things differently.

The fact that you recently ranked Paragonya as high as Clube 117 and Thermas is impressive and the ranking speaks for itself.

You have been posting in this forum long enough to have built a reputation of credibility.  It is not as though you had just joined the forum and quickly showed signs of being a troll poster.  Therefore, your comments have value.

When I revisit Paragonya and find it as you did, I will send a hearty confirmation stating that the place has been restored to its earlier reputation.

Thanks again for your response.

I forget which poster but one had the luck of running into Pavol and Dominik at Paragonya. THAT was a miracle not often repeated. Pavol is in Prague now and Dominik??? Hitting 2 of the top 5 in Europe is luck.

Paragonya is not the reason the Czech stars all go to Zurich/Basel. They get many dates off Hunqz there for 150 francs. ($150US) .
