Guest fountainhall Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 His Majesty failed to make his birthday address earlier today - the first time he has not done so during his long reign. The BBC quotes HRH Princes Sirindhorn as saying the King "has a blockage in his throat and a poor appetite" but added the condition "is not serious". Quote
Guest Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I hope that he is OK and stays in good health. I know many Thais look forward to his speech. Quote
Guest laurence Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I hope that he is OK and stays in good health. I know many Thais look forward to his speech. The news of a blockage in the throat and not eating is not good health. Rather ominous I would think. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I read in the International Herald Tribune today that the King had a throat infection. They also stated he has had two heart operations, one spinal operation and a small stroke. That was all news to me. Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 . . . and a small stroke He was hospitalized in November last year for quite a few days. It was well reported and led to the fashion for pink shirts when he was photographed leaving hospital wearing a pink jacket. Quote
Guest MonkeySee Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 They also stated he has had two heart operations Correction, two heart procedures. I guess that is a little different from an operation. Next time, I will cut and paste so that I will get it right. Quote
PattayaMale Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 The Bangkok Post reports that HMK is now able to take fluids and is his throat is improving. Quote
