Guest laurence Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 The New York Times reports that, in April 2006, HM addressed the judges in a rare speech. He called the political situation at that time "a mess" and said, "you'd better discuss with others what solutions are available; otherwise the country will be in jeopardy". It would seem that the judges took his advice. Quote

Guest laurence Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Why did it take them 2 1/2 years to take His advice? The mills of the gods grind slowly! The King spoke to the judges in April 2006; in May 2007 The Constitutional Court banned Thaksin and other senior party leaders from participating in politics for five years, for election fraud and also forced dissolution of Thai Rak Thai party; in Sept. 2008 the new Prime Minister was forced out of office when the court ruled he had unlawfully accepted payments while appearing on a television cooking show. And now in Dec. 2008 the most recent prime minister and others were booted out by the Court. Quote
