I'm not certain whether that information is correct. I can't find anything about that on the Thai Airways web site and I also see nothing about it in the news media. Quote
Guest GaySacGuy Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I am scheduled on a Thia flight out of Ubon tomorrow morning to Don Muang, and have yet to be notified that it is canceled....probably won't be notified!! Quote

I would urge people to check on this more closely. After seeing this post I called Thai Air reservations and was very surprised I got through so quickly. I asked about this and the reservation agent said they can not guarantee reservations to Bangkok, but denied that they were canceling all reservations to Bangkok. But who really knows I noticed a post or article yesterday that said the PM Somchai had fled to Cambodia. Quote

You may want to confirm since flights may go to Hua Hin and bused from there. Waiting for them to call you is doubtful I would think Quote
Guest fountainhall Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 Thai Airways is cancelling all its Bkk bookings thru Dec31st Not according to THAI's website. You can still make bookings for next week on-line. Quote
Guest luvthai Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I received a message from thaivisa stating the above but it is also posted on Sawatdee forum with them saying it was posted on the thaiair web page. http://www.thaiair.com/homepage/annouce/sb...ation_30nov.htm .I hope i copied it correctly but if I didn't check the sawatdee forum. Gaybutton Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I hope i copied it correctly You didn't. The correct link is: http://www.thaiair.com/Homepage/announce/sbia_situation.htm In any case, there is nothing there that indicates flights will be canceled in December. I don't know where whoever posted on Thai Visa got that from, but if there is anything at all that says Thai Airways will cancel their December flights, it's very well hidden. It also would make no sense for Thai Airways to make such an announcement. They service plenty of airports besides just Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi and those airports are open and operating. Considering that nobody knows at this point just how all this will play out, I can't imagine a reason why they would cancel their flights. Quote
Guest gwm4sian Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 Thai Airways is not cancelling flights, but is saying it cannot guarantee reservations already made. So even if the airports reopen and you have a flight booked before Dec 31st, you might find you have lost it. The press release says you need to make new reservations - which just about amounts to cancelling the flights Here is the news item http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingne...newsid=30089846 Due to the closure of the Bangkok airports, Thai International Airways requested passengers with ticket reservations before November 25, traveling between November and December 31, 2008, to contact THAI's reservation and ticketing offices to make new reservations. The offices are THAI's Head Office on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road, THAI's Larn Luang Office and THAI's Silom Office at BUI Building, opposite AIA Building on Suriwongse Road. For further information and reservation, passengers may contact tel. 02-356-1111 or for other assistance at tel. 02-545-4000. Quote
